Before I start, I'd like to remind you that as soon as you injure your plant (by toping, for example), your training falls into the high-stress category, even if you do trellising afterwards. In your case, you need to wait a little longer, until the plant has grown enough to be able to do a toping. The first 4 nodes (3 if you're mainlining) should have started to develop lateral branches and you can grow a bit more if you want to take a cutting at the top. Prune the first node or 2 from the bottom, leaves and branches. The next 2 nodes are generally kept, but you can keep more if you like or just one if you intend to mainline. Cut the main stem cleanly, right between the two nodes. And even if the plant can get by without it, I recommend using tree-healing putty to cover the wound. And remember that every time you top the plant, it will stop growing to deal with the stress, which will slow down your growth period by a week on average each time.

Hello my friend, no wait with topping till the plant reached 6 nodes! She is still too small and still does not have enough nodes with branches that will grow buds.

wait a little so you got materials to bend over and top, stuns growth a little if you top that small

Don't top until you get to the 5th or 6th node. I like to top at the 5th.

Leave it for another 5 to 7 days. The first true leaves you can top at that node. Just give a few days for recovery after. Then a week later you should be able to start to LST. Keep in mind it will add on some time to VEG if you top as they need to recover. So you can just LST without topping. I like to top once as I think it makes it easier to train and create an even canopy.

Unless your trying to mainline I don't see the point in topping right now and then LST later. It will take the plant time to recover as well from the topping, as a sprout that's not always ideal as it means you might need to extend the veg period. Best to look up some articles on LST and get an idea of the shape of plant you want then work from there. I'm not opposed of HST or topping and LST, I've done it before in the past, worked out well for me. but I had a vision for the plant and followed it. Good Luck!

I never top, especialy if you lst . What for to cut what you grew ? Just plant upfront how you will position future shoots and were you will bend and guide main top constantly. Check any of my recent indoors, 0 harm , flat big canopy still.

I wouldn't set a certain time for topping(except for autos), judge it by plant growth. Part of it depends on how far down you plan to top to but generally for that first topping, most like to wait until there are at least 5 nodes present. It's more about the plant reaching a stage of maturity to handle the stress without a lot of slowdown than anything. Obviously how you plan to train comes into play too. With autos you mainly want to get it done and recovered before it starts its flowering transition.
