Advice on Harvesting Jack Herer Auto

Hi, I'm new to growing, and I have two Jack Herer autoflower plants that have been flowering for about 6-7 weeks. I'm wondering if they are ready for harvest, or if I should wait a little longer. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

How ripe you want it is personal preference. Relative amount of amber you find in trichomes is best trigger for consistency. Once it is fully plump, focus on trichomes. If new, you can take buds off early, middle and late with a staggered harvest -- can still take the bulk when you 'think' it is best and pull a few off early and leave a few to ripen longer etc. Experiment till you find what you like best. 10%? 50%? 70+%?

Now would be best for maximum THC, but if you prefer sleepy couchlock effect, give them another week or so. Flower maturation can take anywhere between 6 and 20 weeks depending on genetics, saying all plants take/need 8 weeks is misleading.

Every morning first thing see if those yellow stigmas have turned orange, the ratio of orange to yellow will give you a idea of how much growth will continue, once 95% are orange and no more yellow seem to appear the next morning, this is a good Indicator I use in conjunction with trichome cloudiness. Only thing you will get from a extra week is a week extra of heat radiation reducing the half life of the trichomes, Over time I've come the experience the personal preference of harvesting 1 week earlier than I normally would, I'd rather smoke at the peak of life cycle than smoking the start of decay.

I’m a huge believer in letting all my plants flower for 8 weeks. I know it may look ready after 6-7 weeks but that 8th week I find it develops even further. Autoflower doesn’t equal faster flowering.
