Defoliation 6 weeks in flower?

My plant, named A), is 6 weeks into flower and is looking great, but I'm worried about the density of foliage in regard to bud mold. Should I defoliate? I have been taking the odd fan leaf here and there, just don't know how far I should take it this late.

See how many leaves are one on top of the other? Only the top most one is actually getting light. There's where you want to defoliate, get rid of all the leaves that are shaded.

The plant B on the right looks likes she's more leafy than the plant A . You can defoliate to improve the air flow and avoid bud rot issue and mold but there is another way to improve the airflow , it is to put a fan blowing around , the kind that can rotate on itself a 180°C , of course it's better to not have a high RH while in flowering but if you can't then the fan can help you and to be sure I'm not saying it just to say somethins I am e,couraging you to take a look at my diary calles "what's up spinnnn" and you will see a grapfruit full of leaves that is short with all the buds stucks together and she is growing in a tent with no air extractor with a RH of 80/90% at least as the walls of the box are sweating water when the box is 2/3 closed BUT I have no bud rot because I have a fan blowing around this plant. That said , it's not really recommended to defoliate after the stretch, when the plant is in flowering because she'll not recover so it's easy to over do and harm a plant

Hi @dirtytea The plants are quite dense so you can do some minimal defoliation on the leaves that are covering and shading the buds Do the defoliation little by little so that the plants do not stress and block, take a few leaves and a few days to see how they react and take a few leaves again. Automatic plants hate stress. good luck mate 👍

Your plant looks so healthy, that it should be no problem, I think. But do it very carefully and do not cut too many leaves. I would defoliate a few leaves at the bottom, which are in the shadows. But not all - keep a few leaves, to be sure that the plant has a resource, if she gets any nutrient defencies. I would do it as following: if i have 5 leaves at the bottom and they are all in the shadow of the light, i would defoliate 2 leaves maximum. With an “automatic“- plant, normally a defoliation is not recommended, but if you want to do it, do it very minimized.
