Ok so my last qeuistion is what are the best signs on when too start the flush / feeding clean water only ?Do you start as soon as the first pistels start too turn brown ? Or is there a better way of judging when too start ? I want too give them 2 weeks of nothing but fresh water

Hey there , the best way you can determine when your plants are ready to harvest is to watch the trichomes . You cant really see it with the naked eye unless you have had tons and tons of practice . The best way you to see them would be through a portable microscope or a magnifying glass that is atleast 10X or stronger . You can get both items from your local grow shop or you can search amazon for them . Both of these items or items simular to them will help you see the trichomes . Once the trichomes are 15 % amber 75 % milky and 10 % clear thats when I would take them down . You dont wanna wait too much longer then that as the longer you wait the more chance you have on running the plant until the potency starts to decline . Hi @Rastafari! I usually start to flush when the trichomes are turning milky and my flush lasts for a few days until I got the perfect ratio (~80% milky, ~10% amber ~10% clear). Terpenes should 'explode' during ~4 days once the harvest window is open. Enjoy your harvest!

Honestly I also use the pistols as the most simple visual cue. Another fun and simple real way to tell on a personal level is take small samples along the way to learn how high and taste are affected, old hippy trick 👍

Honestly, flushing is more or less useless. The only real reason to flush is if you have been overfeeding your plant and need to flush out the excess nutes to start feeding at proper levels. There was a study done several months ago that showed flushing at the end of flower reduced the nutrient content in the buds by an insignificant amount. https://atrium.lib.uoguelph.ca/xmlui/bitstream/handle/10214/12125/Stemeroff_Jonathan_201712_Msc_with_erratum.pdf?sequence=8&isAllowed=y If you want to save money on nutes I would just feed at half strength for the last week or 2 and not bother flushing at all.

The most commun is to start to flush according to the trichomes ratio to sure to harvest a weed that provide you the effect you want. So based on the trichomes ratio if you wait for 2 weeks of flush then the trichomes will maturate during these 2 weeks so if you start to flush with a 100% cloudy trichomes ratio you will end up with around 20% of amber trichomes , but this method require a magnifier. If you have no magnifier at home then use breeder recommendation ( you can add an extra week or 2 ) . And if you are using the brown pistils method wait at least on 60% brown pistils to flush 2 weeks and harvest with 80% brown pistils 😊
