Germ week for the next cycle. All seeds have popped, all clones have rooted. Minus a couple more transplants, everything is right on track. All 5 of the Spicy Bitch are looking strong and the Holy Surfer doesn’t look to be any slouch either. They’re all going in to 1gal smart pots as soon as they get their legs under em. Background Fingers crossed that these Spicy Bitch regs provide at least one male so that we can back build some stock of it. In the event that does take place we’ve got a single clone of each strain from the previous pollen chuck to sit in the tent with them so they can make babies for the next few months. The whole point of the last year was to start making some foundational genetics for a third generational cross we could call our own. If you’ve been following along than you’ll know that it’s been anything but easy. Our previous pollen picks didn’t pan out at all so we’re back to the drawing board with a new option from ExoticSeeds. This’ll be a 10 plant run with 5 regs and 6 strains for pollination including the strain itself. We’re running in a 2x4 MarsHydro grow tent all powered by a Mars Sp6500. That’s a little more than 600w packed into half the recommended footprint😳. Why? you ask - because we like our buds big and overcompensatory😂. Really, I’m just of the mind that we can pack more light into this space than recommended and get much better results. The math doesn’t lie. At least not as long as I wasn’t high when using the calculator again….. Many thanks to @MarsHydroLED for the opportunity to test run the equipment👊. Strain Background Spicy Bitch: predominantly sativa, heavy yielder with a daytime kinda trip profile. It’s a cross of Queen Mother and a Pre-2000 AK47. We’ll pull what pollen we can and hope to have a female run out a larger supply of seed for the future. Many thanks to @Exoticseeds for the chance to give these beans a go👍👊. Pollination Strains: Holy Surfer S1 - this is one of the focal points for this cycle. A fellow growmie was kind enough to ship over some S1 genetics I took an interest in. The only ask back was that if I did cross it to send a few his way for testing👍. Shoutout and cheers to @blendmedmedman. Hoping to have something back to ya in short order. For full details on this alluring hybrid option check my buddies link at seedfinder - https://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Holy_Surfer/Smiling_Tiger/ Northern Lights - this came from a particularly interesting batch of seeds that have shown a very dependable variegation trait. It’s a compact and squat plant requiring very little maintenance. Typical for the strain really. It’s been chosen as an option to potentially mellow out the high , shorten the stature of the resulting hybrid and inject it with some of that mellow indica effect. Boogie Nights - total shot in the dark. Still haven’t even tried the strain myself yet but it was available at the right time and interesting enough to make a salad with. Big thanks to AMS who’ve been nothing short of an excellent seedbank to collaborate with. Expect similar growth characteristics to that of the Northern Lights. Better resilience however. Blueberry - this particular clone is from extremely strong stock. Spliff seeds broke the mold with this strain. She’s lower maintenance than the NL, more resilient than anything else we’ve got on the menu and the terp. Profile on this girl is out of this world. If we can bring any of these qualities to the cross, then it could be magic👌. White Widow - garrghh, I just can’t get away from this particular plant. Again, still haven’t even tested the buds yet and all I can say is that the growth characteristics are extremely vigorous and desirable. This plant is one of 3 unicorns that I have yet to tame due to a combo of extremely bad luck and circumstance. All told, it’s still the same story: a VERY experimental breeding project designed to shotgun a broad swath of genetics against a reliable and dependable Breeder who’s put out proven fire 🔥🤟😎👍.

Through the first week above ground and we have a collection of very healthy spicy bitch and holy surfer seedlings. All sprouted well and look strong. The remainder of the clones have also rooted. We were worried they’d be a little too young to transplant still but did it anyway. I’m just 12 hours they look all the better for it and are taking to the coco medium like champs👍. Despite our being completely tired and done with the genetics from the last run, we’re really glad we held onto these clones. That little variegation quirk in the NL is definitely something we’d like to see carried over to a new hybrid cross and there’s no disputing that the Spliff Blueberry will make an excellent parent as well. Now it’s just waiting to see which one of the spicy bitches will be boys. Ideally we’d like to separate one of the identified females just to bid it out proper but beggars can’t be chooses in this game. It would be so beneficial to have another smaller space to run some additional pollen out but pretty sure the wife’ll murder me and bury me in the backyard if I try to put another grow space in the house🤣. Either way - alls Lookn good so far. Until next week folks👍. Background Fingers crossed that these Spicy Bitch regs provide at least one male so that we can back build some stock of it. The beauty of this system is that it’s literally a 1 (one) component system for the entirety of the plants grow cycle. It really has changed the game in terms of ease of feeding and maintenance. It’s also very versatile and seems to provide everything needed across multiple different strains in the same ratios. Keep your eyes peeled for these folks. Pretty much a guarantee that they absolutely blow up once more people know about them👍👌😎. Strain Background Spicy Bitch: predominantly sativa, heavy yielder with a daytime kinda trip profile. Week 2 North of the medium and all the seedlings are strong and spreading their first fan leaves. It’ll be a busy weekend harvesting the tent run, cleaning tent and repotting all these. The clones are doing good generally. Boogie nights is struggling a bit but should be alright. We had to top the white widow just to slow it down a little but damn she’s fierce. We’ll finally be bring’n em under the Sp6500 once everything's all set up and that’s gonna be fun👍😎. Next week’ll be busy but rewarding to see the new setup for sure. Week 3 update and some big changes all around. We’ve now transplanted and moved all the plants in to the main tent under the Sp6500. Everything is growing strong and healthy and they don’t seem to be showing any major light stress. Firstly, the driver for this monster had to be moved outside the tent. Given the location, we just got lucky to be near an appropriate surface for it as you’ll find she throws off some serious heat. The fixture itself runs pretty hot as well so appropriate ventilation with this kind of oversized set up is a must. We just upgraded to a bigger vent fan as result. No real issues prior but wanted to be pro-active and it was time anyway👍. Not gonna lie, I really like the convenience of this tent. She’s got access ports in all the right places😉. The Boogie Nights was really struggling but seems to have come around. The Spicy Bitches seem to be staying low and squat too. We topped the blueberry to slow its roll somewhat and the holy surfer is roughly on par with everything else. If all goes to plan, me thinks we flip the switch this week. Full veg maturity is almost there for the seedlings and this run is strictly for seed so preferable if we speed things up to the max where possible. Until next week y’all🤟.

Week 4 update - had to list it as a flower week as we flipped em half way through. Exotic wasn’t lying - the spicy bitches hit maturity rather quickly and we now have a guaranteed 2 males and 3 females - perfect ratio score👌👍. Balls started showing in a span of 12-36 hours. One of the females entered flower early so she may be a dud, an auto or just stressed for some unusual reason. We’ll probably either separate er or let it grow with the rest and pitch it. Won’t be using that seed knowing that underlying issue. Similarly, one of the males has also demonstrated some fan leaf mutation - I actually like this kind of variation and it makes things interesting so bonus there👍. The rest of em are doing just fine. So god damned nice to have a run that’s on a quick schedule to finish within 3 months. It’s been a long year for the pollen chuck and we’re really looking forward to the upcoming all fem. Run. For now though - conditions look ripe for a bunch of awesome crosses, any one of which could be pure 🔥. Till next week yall🤟. Week 2 of flower roughly and all plants have begun the shift to cotton balls. Except for the males of course but, they’re grown som hefty sacks also😉. As it turns out we have 3 males, not 2. That might present an option to harvest pollen off one of em to actually save for future use. We’ll see how it goes. Other than that - all plants are performing generally well. Certainly we’ll enough to make some seed babies so let’s get to it. I figure nuts start bust’n in about 2 weeks or so yall! Giddy up and slap dat ass - we gotta make ourselves some bit ‘o awesome😎. Through week 3 of flower and the boys have now started to bust nuts and impregnation has commenced in earnest. We’ve got the fans blowing the pollen around and still trying to figure out how and if we’ll try to bag some extra for later breeding grows or just roll with the extra seed stock when we need more. Good problem to have and still expect to pull out 4 new F1s on this cycle anyway. They’re all a little deficient right now as they progress through transition. Got up the ratios a touch me thinks but so far - no major issues that can’t be addressed. Light stress doesn’t seem to be an issue yet although the blueberry and white widow haven’t looked the greatest under this fixture so far. The rest are straight loving the extra power so it could easily be an issue with the clones themselves. They just been copied so many times that you start to wonder if that’s creating it’s own issues. Despite all this, we’re essentially on auto pilot with every other day feeds. It’s a pain in the ass with 1 gal pots becasuse the medium dries out insanely fast and it can be hard to keep up. Other than that - Lookn forward to some new seed and the next run🤘. Until next week yall👊. Background Fingers crossed that these Spicy Bitch regs provide at least one male so that we can back build some stock of it.

Week 4 of flower and the boys have finally spilled the pollen. It’s bloody everywhere in there so I expect that no bud has gone undefiled😎. The females have all witnessed a pretty significant nitro deficiency now that they’re trying to produce seed instead of flowers. We changed out the nute mix to 1/3 grow and 2/3 bloom and they immediately showed improvement. No slight against Druid at all - we moved to a different brand simply to conserve it for the flowering runs where it really matters👍. The lone separated spicy bitch female that entered flower early is looking really sexy. I very much doubt she’ll have escaped full pollination with this much in the air however. We won’t use any seed from this girl but if we’re lucky we might be able to pull out some sample bud. We’re taking down all the males today now that their job is done and we’ve also decided to harvest from the one specific cum dumpster male that has shown as the most vigorous. Doubt we’ll get around to using it before it’s shelf life expires but u never know. The details on that will be in the harvest entry coming up. Other than that - we’re through the fornication stage and it’s all just keeping the ladies alive until it’s time to extract some seeds👍😎👍. Still workn on the potential cross names - that’s the best part😉. Until next week🤟👊. In addition, we’ve also moved to a new nutrient system - Druid Nutrients out of the Netherlands. They don’t really have a presence on GD yet but you’ll be hearing about them very soon I’m sure. And we are officially through step 1 of the latest pollen chuck👌🤟. They all started spewing around the same time and the bulk of it was in the air within about 3 days. All of the females have noticeably taken to it as well so the males have served their purpose and made short work of it too👍. All 3 of these Spicy Bitch males were absolute cum dumpsters🤩 but, one in particular showed that added pizazz😎. We elected to salvage and harvest the pollen from this particular plant juuuuuust in case the opportunity presents to use it once more on something new. I doubt it given all the crosses we now have to test. As far as our pollen harvesting methods are concerned. It’s pretty basic and rudimentary. - Cover the plant in an appropriately sized plastic bag and tie off the tag ends at the base of the stem. - snip off the main stem at the base of the plant. - beat the shit out of the bag. - just kidding 😁, “vigorously agitate” said bag so as to encourage all of the mature pollen sacs (and their pollen) to drop off the plant to the bottom of said bag. - remove the plant from the bag, giving ‘er a good shake as you do. - give the pollen bag a strong shake and further agitation to encourage all the pollen to its bottom. - cut the bag like a bag of chips that’s half eaten and pour it out on to some tin foil. - separate any leaf matter but generally keep all the pollen sacs (this is the super lazy method after all😉). - fold the tin foil into a spout type shape and pour your sacs and pollen into a freezer bag. - add roughly the same amount of all purpose flour as a dessicant. - wrap in tin foil, seal with cardboard (added dessicant) in Tupperware and freeze in refrigerator of your choice. - done. Shouldn’t take more than 20 minutes give or take👍. That’s it for these girls! On to where the rubber meets the road. Can’t wait for dem seeds🤞🤞🤞. ***Smoke update: terps, colour and bag appeal are all on point with this girl. Same goes for most growth characteristics. The smoke is hard to rate at this point. Definitely sativa but not overly strong at all. Could be due to the seed she produced though. She did catch some stray pollen during flower so tough to comment on. Either way - generally an excellent all around strain, par for exotics course👍👌.

Week 5 of flower and seed production for all these plants has started in earnest. We cleaned up the tent somewhat and took down all the males after having done their job. Alls left is to wait for finish now. The nute deficiency appears to have corrected itself now that we’ve balanced out the ratios a little more. The WPM is no match for the sodium bicarbonate but still gonna have to keep on top of that to the end of the grow. Full fumigation of the grow spaces will be required - multi-day process I am not looking forward to. Time cleaning is time not growing, sadly. We’re coasting to the finish now but should still have some decent updates on our super secret seed harvesting method once they’ve fully matured😉👍. Hope everyone’s well and grow’n that straight 🔥. Week 6 of flowering/seeding and just coast’n to the finish. These 1gal pots require watering at least once nice every other day which is a bit of a pain in the ass. Is what it is when ur hand watering coco and plus - it’s just the easiest way to throw pollen around. The girls are fine - couple dead leafs here, couple deficiencies there. If we didn’t have to deal with WPM yet again, it would be a much nicer look to the plants. Either way full bleach and clean coming soon. We’re so close now that the seeds are starting to mature out. We’ll probably give it another full 2-3 weeks before the chop and a very long dry. Anxious to get this one over with. We have a ton of fems burning a hole in the pocket and a whole ‘nother run for seed on the slate next. Sucks but we’re not deviating from the next grow - simply too important😉. Thanks for stopp’n in but really not much to tell on this one ‘till we start to see some seeds drop🤟. Week 7 of flower and the impatient waiting continues. Pretty much a guarantee that we’re done in the next 2-3 weeks. Got some tiger striping starting to show on the seeds so they’re on their way to full maturity. A little bit of burn on the tips had presented awhile back so we backed off on the dosages in general. Still, a balanced mix of grow and flower nutes has really done wonders. They’re just that much more nitro hungry when they’re producing seed. Yes - as per photos; still battling with the WPM. It’s under control but frustrating. I’d already have another run up and growing by now but this is really the only good time (after this run) to have all 3 grow spaces down for a full cleaning and fumigation. We’ll bleach the hell outta everything in the hopes that this problem gets addressed for good. Been battling it for almost a year now due to back-to-back-to-back runs. Either way - we’re good to the chop and just biding our time. Can’t wait to break out the ultra seeder😉. ***update - officially on trich watch for the isolated fem. She’s cloudy all the way through and showing signs of amber. Won’t be long now for this one👍😎😎👍.*** Background Fingers crossed that these Spicy Bitch regs provide at least one male so that we can back build some stock of it. Week 8 of flower and what would one of our grows be this year without some form of stupidity fuck’n with the entire flow…. A whole bunch of nute burn presented itself within a matter of 12 hours overnight and only explanation given how varied it is amongst the plants is that we got the mix ratio wrong for some of the solution containers 🙄. So stupid - just not paying attention, waiting for seeds to ripen. I doubt any overt impact to the harvest as we’re not growing buds here but damn. If it had been bud we were growing we’d have just pooched the blueberry entirely at the ripening stage…. Got em on a flush right now and we’ll see if we even go back to nutes at this point. Might be worth it to just flush em all out over the next 2 weeks and see what we’ve got after that. Definitely gonna take em an extra week as the seeds won’t be done any harm if the plants wait longer for chop. Alls still good - just another but ugly harvest. 2021 is quickly going down as one of our worst years for grow issues yet. Sadly, almost every mistake has been self-inflicted in some way. Far as the one Spicy Bitch fem that we didn’t pollinate is concerned - she’s on a different nute ratio and doing great. Still fading out somewhat and we’re close but not quite there just yet. Probably another week minimum before chop but the buds look absolutely delicious 😋. Here’s hoping for a more prosperous (and attentive) 2022🤞. ackground Fingers crossed that these Spicy Bitch regs provide at least one male so that we can back build some stock of it. In addition, we’ve also moved to a new nutrient system - Druid Nutrients out of the Netherlands. They don’t really have a presence on GD yet but you’ll be hearing about them very soon I’m sure.

Week 9 of flower and this will be the final update prior to chop. Really because we expect to take these just a few more days. The seeds at mid cola for each plant have all generally turned over to brown with that indicative tiger striping👍👍👍. We got some stellar new crosses come’n in hot across all the clones😎. Great way to ring in 2022. The nute burn was bad but again - non effectual to our harvest of seed. Our lone Spicy Bitch fem is also now done. The final colours on ‘er were incredible and this bodes very well for the future testing of these new crosses. The buds are dense, stacked and full of very uniform trichs. Extremely pleased with this plant on its own🤟. Now to finally rid the grow space of our WPM issue for good - whole space is getting the full Monty cleaning when we’re done here. All in preparation for our latest batch test on our latest cross of WalkerBerry OG😋. Harvest deets to follow shortly once we bring em down. Thanks for tagg’n along and all the best for a happy new year . ackground Fingers crossed that these Spicy Bitch regs provide at least one male so that we can back build some stock of it. This one’s a dream of a plant. Everything a grower desires in terms of traits with a powerful indica effect that the strain is notorious for. Between this and the sativa hybrid genetics in the spicy bitch it should make for an interesting cross with a bunch of funky colours. We’re leaning towards “White Karen” for the name right now. Just seemed appropriate given the strains and the current times😉. All the plants pretty much cried uncle around week 8 and then took some decent burn when we inadvertently mixed up the feed ratios. Regardless, beautiful tiger striping on the seeds👌. It ain’t a pretty finish but mission definitely accomplished👍.

What a great plant. Still can’t get over how strong the high on this girl is. So we’re obviously happy about having this cut available for pollination. She’s strong with very good vigour. Squat as a plant with massive head buds and tight internodal spacing. Despite being particularly susceptible to WPM she does grow right through it without issue if the problem is being actively managed. The spicy bitch by contrast was very resistant which is exactly one of those traits that you hope gets shared with these F1 seeds. The colours should be a light show based on how each tend to colour in late flower. All told and despite limited info - I have very high hopes for this cross🤞🤞🤞🙏. We’re gonna call it Northern Spice F1. All the plants pretty much cried uncle around week 8 and then a couple took some decent burn when we inadvertently mixed up the feed ratios. Regardless, beautiful tiger striping on the seeds👌. It ain’t a pretty finish but mission definitely accomplished👍.

This cut of boogie nights was problematic and a slow grower from day 1 of rooting. That’s not to say that it was a weak mother she came from - more so that the cut was taken at the absolute earliest time to get it in to the tent for pollination with the rest. She’s not overly resistant to WPM and was the biggest concern in the tent for this cycle. The stems branched far too much after topping and really couldn’t support any weight at all by mid-flower. She’s also a squat one, showing some light pink and purple hues in late flower. The high is a day time sativa kind trip. Not overly powerful but rather, engaging and productive. How it pairs with a similar leaning sativa like this spicy bitch remains to be seen. Like the NL, we’re hoping some of the resiliency of the spicy bitch passes on to the progeny generation that we’ll be calling “Pole Dancer F1”😉. All the plants pretty much cried uncle around week 8 and then a couple took some decent burn when we inadvertently mixed up the feed ratios. Regardless, beautiful tiger striping on the seeds👌. It ain’t a pretty finish but mission definitely accomplished👍.

This one’s a bit of an enigma. No experience with the strain whatsoever and it’s a mixed bag of classic genetics like skunk which result in fat buds and a monster central stalk. She’s very resilient and resistive. A ton of extra foliage that does require some care and maintenance. We chose to throw a bean into the breeding tent prior to a first test run. Mainly as thanks to the buddy who fired em over to us - we’ll send a few of the cross back his way just in case he has use for something new and different👍👊. Shout out @blendmedmedman. We’ll call it surfer girl F1. No idea when we have a chance to try out the new generation - still gotta do the critical full grow on dem buds👌. All the plants pretty much cried uncle around week 8 and then a couple took some decent burn when we inadvertently mixed up the feed ratios. Regardless, beautiful tiger striping on the seeds👌. It ain’t a pretty finish but mission definitely accomplished👍.

Great plant, easy on the water and grows short and squat. The terp profile is what really makes this strain shine. The blueberry fruit is so prevalent and would be a key trait to draw out in future generations of the cross. We’ll call it spiceberry for the sake of ease. Only hope that there comes an opportunity to give it a test run. All told, it’s been a fairly uneventful grow and they pretty much just did their thing until the finish. We’ve got a ton of pollen and a crap ton of seed all around. Final pics there to follow shortly along with the full background update. Background ***see spicy bitch harvest week for smoke report and harvest photos*** Fingers crossed that these Spicy Bitch regs provide at least one male so that we can back build some stock of it. ***Tech update: the 600w of power in this small space has shown no major issues or over abundance. Quite the contrary actually - the light still has ample headroom to move up and for your typical short veg plant - the results and bud quality are impressive to say the least. The tent itself has proven both durable and easy to clean. It’s held up really well so far. I really can’t complain about Mars Hydro products. They haven’t shown any really significant down sides👍.*** In addition, we’ve also moved to a new nutrient system - Druid Nutrients out of the Netherlands. They don’t really have a presence on GD yet but you’ll be hearing about them very soon I’m sure. ***Full disclosure, we moved over to a more traditional maxi series nute by GHE for a large portion of this grow. This was a value decision to stretch the Druid nutes longer and keep ‘em in back for a full fem. Cycle.*** Strain Background Spicy Bitch: predominantly sativa, heavy yielder with a daytime kinda trip profile. It’s a cross of Queen Mother and a Pre-2000 AK47. We’ll pull what pollen we can and hope to have a female run out a larger supply of seed for the future. Many thanks to @Exoticseeds for the chance to give these beans a go👍👊. ***Harvest Update: This strain is so typical of the stuff exotic seems to put out. Seems every single one of their plants always runs a light show of trichs and late cycle colouring. This plant was certainly no different. She’s sativa dominant and yields are decent with longer internodal spacing. Takes to typical nute strengths and shows great signs of resilience against WPM. For full details on this alluring hybrid option check my buddies link at seedfinder - https://en.seedfinder.eu/strain-info/Holy_Surfer/Smiling_Tiger/ ***Harvest Update: She grew short and squat with a singular defining cola and a large amount of leaves. Formed one massive bud with impressive girth suggesting a potential winner to try out on her own👍. She was also quite resistant to WPM. An injection of sativa genes could be a winning combination for this hybrid🤞.*** Northern Lights - this came from a particularly interesting batch of seeds that have shown a very dependable variegation trait. It’s a compact and squat plant requiring very little maintenance. Typical for the strain really. It’s been chosen as an option to potentially mellow out the high , shorten the stature of the resulting hybrid and inject it with some of that mellow indica effect. ***Harvest update: Any thoughts we had about mellowing out the cross with this strain we’re wishful. For a classic NL, this particular plant packs a massive sledgehammer of a high. Very surprising and no idea how it’s going to translate in the F1. We’re hoping to get a run of this in soon🤞.**** Boogie Nights - total shot in the dark. ***Harvest update: This one’s a sativa leaning strain in terms of effect. A great day time, head high option that won’t leave you sleepy👍. She’s got some colour to the buds in this pheno and should compliment the spicy bitch rather well. I don’t expect a major change in effect when blending the genetics but if we can get a little more resilience into the strain via the spicy bitch pollen then it’ll be all the better.*** Blueberry - this particular clone is from extremely strong stock. Spliff seeds broke the mold with this strain. She’s lower maintenance than the NL, more resilient than anything else we’ve got on the menu and the terp. Profile on this girl is out of this world. If we can bring any of these qualities to the cross, then it could be magic👌. ***Harvest update: No real change in our expectations post-harvest. Should be a great blend of indica and sativa characteristics for the effects and what we really want in terms of grow features are the benefits of the blueberry terp profile mixed with some of the colouring we’ve found in the spicy bitch. Both are resilient and resistive so this should be a very solid and reliable foundation for future generations.*** White Widow - garrghh, I just can’t get away from this particular plant. Again, still haven’t even tested the buds yet and all I can say is that the growth characteristics are extremely vigorous and desirable. This plant is one of 3 unicorns that I have yet to tame due to a combo of extremely bad luck and circumstance. ***Harvest update: This is our max hybrid vigour cross if you will. This WW strain is super strong and grows like wild fire. The effects are predictable and strong like that of any widow strain and when mixed with the sativa leaning spicy bitch we expect very good things. Both are resilient, both have tons of trich production and both appear to yield generously. Between this and the BB cross, we expect these two to be the best bets for a final new hybrid to drill down on👍. All told, it’s still the same story: a VERY experimental breeding project designed to shotgun a broad swath of genetics against a reliable and dependable Breeder who’s put out proven fire 🔥🤟😎👍. ***Update*** All told, the whole runs been a resounding success. It wasn’t pretty and the nute sched. Shoulda been cutoff much earlier than it was but ultimately - no impact and we have a massive final seed harvest. It’d be nice to say that they’re all getting a try asap but that’s just not the case. If we were to make any of these a reliable final product we’d be in for at least another couple years of dedicated pollen chucking and back crossing. We’ll see where the shedule takes us and u never really know for sure🤷. Regardless, it’s nice to have a ton of new potential fire to give a go to👍👌. Many thanks to everyone who tagged along and bothered to comment and discuss. Keep it growing, keep it green👊

Hey man, I see in your update you mention deciding on if and how to store pollen for later. I’ve experimented with this. My best success was to collect the pollen on aluminum foil, try get it as clean as possible with no leaf matter. Mix it with some white flour that you bake in the oven until it’s dry, just be sure it doesn’t toast and change color (bake the flour only not the pollen). Mix this with the pollen. Then for overkill mix this with some white rice, make a foil package and seal in a plastic bag inside a glass jar in the freezer. I stored some feminized pollen this way for 12 months and when I used it, it was still viable. To apply the pollen I just used a paint brush and brushed the white hairs. Within 24 hrs they were turning orange. There were some immature beans but not a significant amount. Well worth the effort to save the pollen to have on hand to spread the love when you it.
TheBudWhisperer
TheBudWhisperercommented3 years ago
@DeaneR , yeah dude - totally worth it if you’ll be utilizing it in a reasonable time. And @Captain_7 is fully on point with resiliency. If stored properly, it’ll last a lot longer than you’d think. I had some recently that I used twice to full effect without flour and just thrown into a baggie and Tupperware. It really shouldn’t have worked after 6 months but fully did👍.

@Captain_7 & @TheBudWhisperer, Good info here. I've heard about the flour for stretching pollen, storing, and baking it....great to hear some feedback from people who use these methods👍 I've only used pollen fresh...I need to learn to store that shit!
