I started Lucy 11/6/21, she split within 24 hours, I planted her in soil from "A Pot for Pot" which is a mixture of "superb soil", coco, and perlite. (Bottom of the pot (5 gal) is 1/4 full with superb soil only, the rest is filled with a mix of the soil, with coco and perlite.)
I used a solo cup filled exactly as the 5 gal pot was. She sprouted 11/9, and was ready for transplant 11/26. She had a nice firm root ball (thank you Mykos) and the transplant went seamlessly. She was a bit mad for a couple of days, since most of the moisture in the pot was below the level she was planted. She got her roots into the lower part of the pot a few days ago and has been growing like crazy since. (This week she stared out at 4.5 inches, and yes, she's flowered! Today she is 9.25, nearly 5 inches in a week.) She showed her first flower on day 16(!!!), and has been busy growing flowers all over since.
Apparently, Lucy doesn't believe in a veg state. I finally made the decision today to perform a modified LST on her, pulling her branches out from under the fan leaves so they can get some light. She has flowers down to node 3 though I suspect that won't amount to much.
I jumped on this site b/c more growers have grown this strain and there is simply more information on the type. I'm open to all suggestions as a first time grower.
Additional info: I'm a newly retired teacher, on a "fixed income" as we say, so I have to keep my costs down for the time being. If I have reasonable success, I plan to upgrade to higher quality lights in the future after I have saved for them.
My plant was flushed last week and has now used all the water from that. She showed some curling tips this morning. Any ideas what's going on? Light set for 40 DLI. If she needs something, I want to add it today while she's thirsty. Thank you for your help!
Cannabis can take 60DIL and above in most test settings.
curling leaves is heat stress though. however 26c is not that hot. and humidity is proper.
It does seem to only be the upper leaves of the plant vs the bottom.
It could be that the highest tips of the plants are experiencing higher temps then the rest of the tent.
where is your sensor located to monitor temps? do you have an extra one for fault checking?
week 5 was 18" distance from lamp and this 8th week its 12" this could be the main cause of this extra stress.
at what height was the 40DIL calculated with your setup? maybe need to return it back to its older settings.
Best of luck
@KingSalomonsWeed, Thank you I will! I have to get my statistics down first, I think? She is drying low and slow in her tent.
That cola is 10 inches long, and 4-5 wide on a 20 inch tall plant. I'm thrilled at my first grow!
Hi! i dont think you should worry about the curling leave at this time as she is showing signs of immobile nutrient deficiency.
I would suggest you to give her Calcium and avoid as much as you can to leave your plant to suck up all water from the soil.. Keep it moist.
I hope it helps. 👌
@moafya, Thank you very much! She is due for her water today, I do have a Mag/Cal I can use. I plan to also use Recharge, as she had an emergency flush last week when I foolishly gave too much Nitrogen.
