3) Barney's / Wedding Cake Auto / Micro

Outta the fridge and into the pot. I was a little brokenhearted when I planted this seed because I had spent almost two weeks watching another attempt at growing this strain, Wedding Cake Auto by Barney's Farms, need to be aborted. She was growing tiny and weird. I made comparisons on Day 12 of photos of that attempt to the ones here in this site at about the same time. It was clear she wasn't growing right. I think the problem was that when that seed broke ground, it had a helmet. I helped remove the helmet. But when I did that, the leaves underneath were still kinda yellow and still immature if not premature. From that point forward, one cotyledon grew but the other didn;t grow at all. Since at the point of helmet removal they were both about the same, I have to assume something went wrong with removing the helmet. At that point I made a new rule for myself: Don't remove helmet until the cotys are a darker green color. Anwyay. the only having one coty meant the seedling was half-nourished during those first few days. From now on, another rule: If broken coty, abort immediately. Wasting time with autos so early is a big waste of at least time. I also had an important observation about cannabis seeds. Looking at them, you get the idea that nature wants them to lie on the ground sideways. And if I had to guess why, it's maybe that a sideways planted seed has to turn and bend it's neck to get out. This, I believe, helps the seedling get rid of its casing. So I made another experimental rule: Let's plant seeds sideways from now on instead of straight up and down. So that's what I did with planting. She emerged after 80 hours or so. Had a slight helmet. Waited for greenness. Then I sprayed with spritzer heavily. Waited 15 minutes. Lightly removed helmet with the end of a paper clip. The rest was history. She was on her way. 😀 Thanks for reading. Hope this was helpful. Have a great grow day!
