Stevie is chugging along. Still has some discoloration on some of the leaves but I think she is recovering. It does not look as though the discoloration has spread any further. She did receive a half strength dose of flower nutrients to try and get her back on track from the flush. She has a couple more weeks to go according to breeder info so I can't wait to see if she blows up in these last few weeks :) Until then I will do my best to keep a close eye on her to get her through these final weeks. P.S. I have a loupe coming in the mail so I can look at those beautiful trichomes

I have been having trouble with my leaf tips and edges appearing yellow and then turning brown. At first it was just the bottom leaves that were affected but now more of the top leaves have the burnt appearance just not as extreme as the lower leaves. What can I do to fix this?

Burnt leaf tips are a sign of nutrient burn. I’d recommend backing down on your nutrients to 1/2 or 3/4 strength. Autos don’t need as much nutrients as photoperiod plants. And the nutrient Manufacturer’s recommendations are maximum strength (the faster you use up your supply, the sooner you’ll buy more). The existing damage will not change back, but you should stop seeing new leaves affected. Good luck 👍

How many times should she be watered before harvest in order to flush properly? She has been drinking about 1L every 3-5 days. She received her last dose of nutes 9/29 and soil still felt damp this morning 10/2.

Hello ! So I heard a lot of things about flushing so here are the things that are important to me : -1st°- Flush at least 7 days before harvest , the best is 10 days to 2 weeks in soil -2nd°- To flush you need to give the plant at least twice the volume of your pot ( fully saturate your pots : for a 10L pot use 20L of water) to wash the nutrients away -3rd°- The good moment to stop is when the runoff water is clear ( at the begenning of the flush it will be brownish ) -4th°- You can flush in 2 part if you choose a long flush (2 weeks ) -5th°- After flushing try to let the medium get fully dry before harvest ( you can have a better terpene profile thanks to that ) . I hope it will help you 😁👍

Hey there noela ive been listening to this really great podcast called the the cannabis cultivation and science podcast by kis organics. They have some really great episodes. But 1 episode with the all organic pot farm up in canada talked about how the less nutrients you give, or the more your soil is organic/living super soil flushing becomes less important and almost not essential. I think it is so common for people to pump their plants so full of bottled or bagged nutrients that they've made flushing seem essential when it doesnt have to be. Best of luck with the harvest.

@Experimentgreen, Sounds super interesting, I'll definitely have to check that out. I'd love to be able to grow using a super soil one day 😀

Hi @Noela! From what I read you're giving 23ml of fertilizer per liter of water, is this correct? If so, you almost killed your plant, that's way too many nutrients. You should flush heavily with plain pH'd water and let it dry with the help of a small fan blowing onto your container. Then see how it goes, but she might need a few days/weeks to recover, especially if she's under a nutrient-lockout. Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊

@Stick, I flushed her a few days back with some plain pH'd water and have a fan on her. Will definitely lay off on the nutrients and give her time. Thanks for the advice :)

Hi @Noela! 1L is not enough, you must have a runoff in order to flush properly. You don't want to create an over-watering situation either (unless you're having a serious nutrient lockout), so use approximately ~30-35% of your container's capacity, this should give you a slight runoff and won't be wet for too long. If you do it 4 to 6 times on a 10-14 days period, salts/nutrients should be sent out of your medium. To ensure this operation is working, you can use a TDS/ppm-meter and check the runoff values each time you flush, you should see the EC decreasing each time you water. Once this value has dropped close to zero, nutrients have effectively been washed out of the soil! Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and enjoy your harvest 👊
