Welcome to my Untopped Vs Topped Milky Way F1 Autos.
Pheno 1 Veg Days 15-21 (Topped Day 16)
Has gone well. Slower growth than expected at this stage. Gonna put it down to been at the side of the pots. Only good thing. Both P1 & P2 had a slow rate of growth. So, I'm nearly sure it's down to this. Lots of stress and broken roots getting them out of that pot. 3 autos in 1 pot, I will not be doing again, especially not for this long. Gave Atlas to help brake down any roots, as also I reused soil for both plants. Biobizz coco & light mix. Has responded well to been topped and nodes are growing. So there's that. And all seems healthy. I topped above the 3rd and decided to go with 2 sets instead as the top set was way behind.
Pheno 2 Veg Days 15-17 (Untopped)
Not going so bad. Again, was uppoted to an 11L. Nice and healthy. Growth a bit slower than expected. But I think it's another case of her been to close to the points edge. The next weeks growth should reveal all. There's 3-4 Days difference between them. Again, healthy. Should see if there's any heavy impact by lack of growth or whatever from a rough uppot. Was and will be treated like pheno 1.
Nutrients used:
Advanced Nutrients Jungle juice Trio
Both phenos have been given a low feed. Just drops of the micro add 2/3rds of this ppm. Very very powerful micro. Is one of the best of the strongest Ml/L of a nutrient I've used to date. 3:1 Ratio G,M:B 670ppm 5.9PH.
Terra Powers mixed enzyme collection
Atlas & Artios Touch was given in response to their rough uppot. Artios Touch is for stress while Atlas will help break down leftover roots and that. Great for uppotting. Adjusted its PH from 6.5 to 6.1
Thanks to my sponsor from Royal Queen Seeds. Both plants will be going under my FC 3000 & IR/UV45 for the flip"wenever that is"/flowering.
@Breadandbuds, Yeah, I mes them also. As my understanding where F1s were FF photos. They sent me something explaining what they mean. It's just a cross of less strains, even a more stable pheno. I think. I read it couple wks back lol, and my mind blank
My next thing is getting a veg tent sorted. I've got my old 4x4 still I've also got a ts1000 I just need the space lol. Only thing I'd need to buy to set it up would be a wee extractor.
@gottagrowsometime, that's my main reason for making the switch to fems this run, I've done auto runs I've been happy with got what i thought was a decent yield, but then I'd end up getting an ounce each from 3 that took 14 weeks also lol. I've germinated, gg sherbet, gg cookies and tropicana cookies, all 3 are the fast buds FFs. See how this one goes. I'll be adding the uv/ir light in soon also, just need to buy one first lol.
@Aldo90, yeah, a veggie tent is a must. In saying that. Soon, she'll be rocking a 300w or I might just add another 100w as my 100cm2 is flowering fems and is only running at barely 14hrs a day. Frosted G is already flipped. The p1000 puts out enough ppfd to finish her. But, not for the whole tent I'll need 2. Have to think on it. Will the yield of 4 autos be enough for the cost of running it. I'm not sure.
@NegotiatedBubble, caught about 15 on just 1. Thing is, did i catch them before they got a chance to lay any eggs. I'll know in a few days if my 4e investment paid off.
Is a good test iam doing to on Purple Pung OG, is fresh and good to know to understand how a plant respond to the topping and let know to other grower. If I were a breeder I would insert this indication on the response to the topping in the data sheet
@Breadandbuds, I fully agree with you. As some breeders autos do really well when topped, have to get it in and hopefully you'll get min another 2 weeks of veg. Fastbuds take well to a top. But 3 times I done it to dutch-passion and they turned out small.
Look forward to seeing the results. I just topped pheno 1, have to get her uppoted to her next pot. Have done it in a way, I can push my 2 hands down and cup it to pull it up. Hopefully won't be too much stress. Both will have to go through this. Gonna make it as even as I can. I know you can't get results , well results you can say for sure it'll work everytime. But, as these are meant to give a more equally grown crop. They are more or less in at the same stage, pheno 1&2 when you look bk over the days, they more or less match.
