5/31/24
Going into Week 5, this is probably my favorite part of the grow because it's so hands-on with the plants with the training and topping. Never a dull moment!
- Growth going nicely, should be able to do the second topping this week.
- Touching up LST each day to keep plant flat and low while getting it to spread out. This plant seems to be taking it pretty well and the final base of the canopy should wind up being just about as wide as the pot, so lots of room to spread out
- Turned off the humidifier in the tent as the transpiration from the plants plus the runoff in the basins is keeping things in a good range for now.
- Sticking with the same feed/water routine and amounts as last week and will keep it going like that through the rest of veg.
- Plant seems to be starting to take up more water now
- Runoff pH around 5.8 and PPM consistently in the mid-700s
- Seeing a little minor discoloration on the tips of two of the oldest leaves, but not on new growth and doesn't seem to be spreading or getting worse. Will watch it, but not overly worried at the moment.
6/2/24
- Plant looks good and healthy, continuing to spread out nicely
- Should be ready for second topping in the next couple of days, going to try to wait a little longer to let the White Widow in the same tent catch up a little bit
- Runoff pH and PPM holding fairly steady at 5.8 and 700 PPM
- Plant starting to take up a bit more water now
- Saw some condensation on touching leaves, so turned up the vent fan a bit to pull in more air and bring down RH
- Raised LEDs to keep space, PPFD still measuring around 400 at leaf tops
- Plant staying nicely flat, touching up LST ties each day to keep it that way
6/4/24
Things continue to move along nicely, no surprises, and she continues to grow well.
- Touched up LST ties daily to keep plant flat and spread out
- Maintaining same water and feed schedule
- Runoff pH and PPM holding fairly steady at around 5.8 and 643, going to slightly raise pH in the feed water
- Taking up more water now, lots of canopy
- Turned up vent fan a bit more to try to push humidity down below 70% (currently at 74%)
- Ready for second topping, should do this in the next day or two
6/5/24
- Gave her a second topping today and secured the LST
- Fed with 960 PPM, 6.7 pH water to bring medium pH up a bit
- Runoff was 6.0 on the nose and 560 PPM
- Humidity this morning down to 71%
@Realtor_Red, Thanks! Getting close to the end, and I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out. Learning some things for the next go, but this one is better than the last, so onward and upward! 😃
5/3/24
- First true leaves are out
- Humidity domes removed
- Light feeding started with General Hydroponics Flora Series
- Plant 1 looking OK
- Plant 2 bouncing back, still smaller than #1, but I'm more optimistic about it given how it looked when it emerged
- Maintaining daytime humidity in the mid 70's (F) and mid 60's (F)
- Humidity at 76% in tent
@Dabking, Thanks so much! This was a fun grow and I learned a lot along the way, I think there are some nice outcomes here. Please do stay tuned- the way Grow Diaries works, it looks like I can't add multiple weeks to document the drying and curing, but I'll keep updating this page as all of that goes along so people can see what the ultimate outcome and results are. Really looking forward to seeing how this one turns out!
@Legendaryseedthumb, Thanks very much! I think it turned out pretty well (we'll see after the dry and cure), but I also learned a lot along the way for the next one. Always trying to get better and get more knowledge. Thanks for checking out my diary!
