Another week has passed, and not much has happened.
I decided to name this plant 'June' as I dropped the seed into the soil on June 1st, so it seemed appropriate. It also follows the name-theme of her predecessor, April.
I transplanted June into her final pot earlier in the week. It's a sub-irrigated planter with 5.7 liters of soil and a 2-liter water reservoir.
It may be small, but it fits precisely into the available space on the window ledge, so it's impossible to fit a larger pot.
I left the country for a few days and left June to settle into her new home. A few days later, upon return, I saw some burnt leaves, indicating the soil was too "hot" for such a young plant.
I was unsurprised as I previously amended the soil heavily with worm castings and insect frass. Considering the amount of soil, I wanted to squeeze in as many nutrients as possible.
I had hoped that she would be larger and more developed before the transplant and thus better able to handle the hot soil, but she remained small due to our lack of sun.
However, the weather has improved in the last few days, so let's hope it continues.
Fingers crossed 🤞🤞
@kohlrabi, Thank you. My main concern is how much it'll smell, as Cheese cultivars are supposed to be stinky. I'm sure the neighbors will approve... lol
