Blue Cheese F1 automatic Welcome to my Zamnesia Blue Cheese diary. I will be growing one plant in Happy Frog soil and the other in Coco Coir Bush Doctor both with Bliss Myco added. This is a test of a coir-based soil for future grows. I chose Blue Cheese F1 Auto since F1s should be stable and look the same in structure. I started in these in a cotton pad January 1. Happy New Year 🎉 friends, growers and lovers of green. Jan 3rd I moved Pink Rozay (1), Blue Cheese (2) which were the ones with tails out and Runtz (1) and Love Potion (1) all to soil. Since I am growing thru Valentines day, I decided to do a dreamy theme of love of wine, cheese and love potion. I started seeds 1/1/25, just after the new moon on 12/30. Interestingly it was a rare black moon, the second new moon of the month. The 5 days following a new moon are the optimal planting times for above ground crops. I'm trying to follow Farmer’s Almanac on gardening by moon phases. I’ll try to remember to note lunar actions i future comments if they apply. Your likes and comments are appreciated. Thanks for stopping by. Growers love 💚🌿 💫Natrona💫 Blue Cheese F1 Automatic offers massive flavour courtesy of a complex yet complementary terpene profile. This F1 strain is derived from a pairing of Blueberry and Cheese, and demonstrates exceptional vigour and uniformity. The seeds of this strain grow into strikingly similar plants with comparable yields, making for a more reliable cultivation project. Blue Cheese F1 Automatic is suitable for a wide range of environments and can thrive with relative ease without the need for round-the-clock maintenance. All it takes is 10 weeks from germination before Blue Cheese F1 Automatic is ready to harvest. Plants grown indoors have the potential to produce around 500g/m², whereas outdoor projects will return between 100–200g/plant. However, both stay pretty close to the ground, typically maxing out at 60–90cm in height. Bearing a THC content of 21%, Blue Cheese F1 Automatic leans on her heritage to offer giggly and relaxed effects that are perfect for solo sessions as well as social gatherings. With a ton of tasty terpenes to her name, Blue Cheese F1 Automatic's buds are bursting with skunky cheese mixed with a bit of blueberry, mint, and diesel for good measure.

Week 3 1/19-25 This was a big week for Blue Cheese gals and Pink Rozay. They got topped, pinned and defoliated on 1/20 with pics 1/20 21, 23 and 25. They handled the topping very well and bounced back with vigor. When I topped the cheeses they were 5 inches tall, I cut off 1 inch and during recovery they grew 2 inches. They are now 6” and very bushy. next week defoliation and more pinning. 1 gal fed 1 liter each Fed 1/20 & 1/23 Plant Juice 1 tbsp/gal 60ml 2tbsp Cal Mag 5ml/gal 5 ml Royal Rush 4ml/gal 4ml Recharge 5ml/gal 5 ml Ppm 335 Ph 6.9 Temp 65 Your likes and comments are appreciated. Blue Cheese F1 automatic Week 5 2/2-2-8 The Cheese gals are in full flower and are stretching like crazy. At the beginning of the week, they were 7 inches tall, Wed 10 and today 2/7 they are 14 & 15 inches tall. They have doubled in height. I’ve moved the pins out to the edge of the pot. For future training, I must add some wires thru the pot holes to keep the branches lower as the outer rim is taller than the center. I reduced nutrients in the feed solution since Runtz and Pink Rozay are showing some purples/blues in the leaves. These gals are vigorous and don’t seem to mind the full strength feedings. Hopefully they won’t start showing deficiencies. I added Green Sensation this week then read the instructions said add in 4th week flower. Blue Cheese is supposed to be a 10 week flower from seed to harvest. If I wait till the 4th week, it will only be used for 2 maybe 3 weeks. Would that actually benefit the plant. So I think I will add some each time but a 25% strength. Calls for 4ml/g I will use 1ml. They are autos and I should be lowering the nutes anyway. Pinned more branches. I add 2 gallons of water to the T700 humidifier daily to keep the VPD in line. 2/5 4 gal fed 2 liter each nutrients added at ½ of recommended amount. Blue Cheese F1 automatic Week 6 2/9-15 The Cheese gals are in full flower, the buds are puffing out and stacking. I even see some lower buds connecting to the upper buds and some pistils are turning brown. There is some smell when I open the tent. The F1 genetics are reflected in that these 2 plants are almost identical. I don’t see much difference in their growth so far using the different mediums. Soil and soil/coco blend. Maybe harvest will show a difference in yield from each one. Time will tell. On 2/13 I did major defoliation on my Cheese gals. I removed all large fan leaves and any leaves shading bud sites. Initially, I thought this would be my last defoliation, however I have heard that 1) they continue to grow new leaves until day 20 of flower and 2) there must be enough foliage on the plant to photosynthesize energy. Well, I hope I left enough leaves for energy to keep bulking up the buds. Stretching has slowed down. Both girls grew only an inch and now 17 inches. This is only the end of flower week 2. Controller is set to flower. I add 2 gallons of water to the T700 humidifier daily to keep the VPD in line. 2/9 & 11 4 gal fed 2 liter each nutrients added at ½ of recommended amount. Blue Cheese F1 automatic Week 7 2/16-22 Flower week 3 The Cheese gals are in full bloom, the buds are puffing out and stacking. I even see some lower buds connecting to the upper buds and many pistils are turning brown. Trichomes are minimal and using my phone, they appear milky. There is some smell when I open the tent. The F1 genetics are reflected in that these 2 plants are identical in plant structure. However, blue cheese 2 in soil is maturing more quickly than BC1 that is in coco soil blend. Both girls had leaf tips turning up and I thought tip curl was light burn so I took the cheese gals off the crates. I also moved the carrots to the other tent with the veggie seedlings because Love Potion is getting so big, Another observation BC 1 in coco is showing over feeding by new tips are yellow and most old ones are brown and curling up. BC2 does not show any nutrient issues even though they are given the exact same food. I surely don’t have time for special diets In addition, Love Potion is getting so big, I took the carrots out and put them in the other tent with the veggie seedlings. So how’s the weather you ask? So glad to share pics our Record setting major snowstorm. Coastal Virginia got the brunt of this storm. Virginia Beach had 13 inches and my area of Chesapeake had 12” We had 24 hours of steady snow. We took our kitties out when it first started to see how they would react. They loved it. So the following morning we took them out again. 2/17 &19 &21 5 gal fed 2 liter each nutrients added at ½ of recommended amount Bloom Juice 60 ml Royal Rush 16 ml Power bud 16ml Green sensation16 ml Cal Mag15ml Ppm 683 Ph 6.5 Temp 65 Your likes and comments are appreciated. Blue cheese F1-1 is in coco coir blend showing nutrient issues. Blue cheese F1 -2 is in happy frog soil and no nutrients issues. What is coco fiber doing to the plant to cause this ? What adjustments do I need to do to resolve this problem?

Maybe 40 bucks for a probe. Long read apologies in advance. The calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), and potassium (K) ratio, often referred to as "Cal Mag K," is important in pH because these elements act as cations (positively charged ions) that can help neutralize soil acidity, meaning a balanced ratio can help maintain a suitable pH level for plant growth by counteracting the hydrogen ions present in acidic soil; essentially, the higher the concentration of these cations, the less acidic the soil becomes. Key points about the Cal Mag K ratio and pH: Soil structure: The Ca:Mg ratio specifically can affect soil structure, with calcium improving aeration while magnesium promotes particle adhesion. Antagonistic effects: If one element is present in excessive amounts compared to the others, it can hinder the uptake of the other nutrients. Soil electrical conductivity (EC) and cation exchange capacity (CEC) are both soil properties that can be used to evaluate soil quality. EC is sensitive to salts in the soil, while CEC measures the soil's ability to retain positively charged ions. Base saturation is the percentage of soil exchange sites that are occupied by basic cations, such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, and sodium. It's a measure of soil fertility and is calculated from soil test data. Base saturation is closely related to pH, and higher base saturation means higher pH. Cation exchange capacity (CEC) is a measure of how many positively charged ions, or cations, a soil can hold and exchange. Soils with low CEC need frequent, short irrigation, while soils with high CEC need less frequent, longer irrigation. Organic matter has a very high CEC ranging from 250 to 400 meq/100 g. The CEC of coco coir is typically between 40–100 meq/100g. The more charge a medium can hold, the greater it can buffer pH. Same environment, same schedule, same fert, different capacity of charge. Soils with high CEC can hold more nutrients and water and can buffer against changes in pH. Like anything more is not always better, bigger charge, bigger potential, and different dynamics. Happy frog medium having higher CEC is able to store more of the cations. Buffering from high ec longer than a plant with a lower CEC medium. Same idea as reading EC for water solution but using a probe made to read the soil. Little pricy for good ones but should find them at most garden stores. "PPM" stands for "parts per million" and "EC" stands for "electrical conductivity"; both are used to measure the concentration of dissolved salts in a solution, like soil, with EC being considered a more precise method as it directly measures the ability of the solution to conduct electricity, while PPM is a measure of the weight of dissolved solids in a given volume of water. Results are best taken after a full saturation with water for even readings, as a general rule of thumb, the ideal EC range for cannabis plants is between 1.2 and 2.0 mS/, like everything else, every stage is different. Leach the soil by thoroughly watering it with plain, pH-balanced water until the excess drains out, effectively diluting the salt concentration in the soil; repeat this process if necessary, and then monitor the EC level with a soil EC meter to ensure it's within the desired range for your plants for the stage of growth. Key points to remember: Dilution is key: Adding more water is the main way to lower soil EC. Use pH-balanced water: Ensure the water you use for leaching has the appropriate pH level for your plants. Check with a meter: Always use a soil EC meter to measure the current EC level and confirm if the leaching process has been successful. How much? How long is a piece of string? The only way to know is the measure. Good luck, hope she bounces back strong.

Blue Cheese F1 automatic Week 9 Flower 5 The Blue Cheese gals and Runtz are maturing faster than the other strains in the tent. These girls are stacking fatter buds and packing on more resin on the buds which are sticky and hard. I got a few good trichome pics of the buds on the plant this week using a magnifier. These show a mix of clear and milky but no amber trichomes. The older pistils are turning orange brown but are still throwing off new white hairs. These indicators say more time is needed for ripeness. Trichomes are increasing on sugar leaves too. Since I gave them a good flush last week and got rid of excess fertilizers, they are showing pink on the edges of some leaves. Blue Cheese 1 in coco is showing more pinks and slightly milkier heads than BC 2 and is also taking more water. Each plant gets 2 liters every 2 days, but Coco is getting 2 liters daily. I am resuming a half dose fertilizer schedule. A week or two more and I’ll start flushing. This week the gals were fed on March 2, 4, & 6. Pics taken 4th & 8th. Bloom Juice 60 ml Royal Rush 7.5 ml Power bud 7.5 ml Green sensation 7.5ml Cal Mag 20ml Ppm ranged from 421-528. Ph 6.5 -6.7 Temp 65-68 I am a soil grower with no experience growing in coco. This Blue Cheese grow is my experiment using the planting medium as the only difference. As an F1 strain, the genetics are identical. Their growth habit, plant structure is the same, I topped and trained them the same and fed them the same. I observed nutrient deficiencies on BC1 in coco compared to BC2 in soil. Last week I asked a question regarding the difference in BC1 & BC2 growing mediums. From this grow I learned: • Coco is a neutral substance void of any nutrients. Soil has good nutrient balance but growth and vigor are boosted with supplemental additives. • Coco must be always kept moist. With soil I give a day dry out then water again. • Coco must have 10-15% run off. I always have run off in my soil but less than 5% of 2 liters. So inadequate drainage caused nutrients lock out, and burn on BC1. • Most importantly, using coco, Cal-mag has to be fed each time and all the other nutrients have to be controlled and in the correct proportions. Thank you to all the responders to my question. You all are very knowledgeable cannabis growers and I appreciate your sharing your knowledge with me. From this experience I prefer soil grow to the coco as there are too many variables that I can screw up in addition to overfeeding. Your likes and comments are appreciated. Thanks for stopping by. Blue Cheese F1 automatic Week 10 Flower 6 Blue Cheese 1 is in her last week; I started the week off 3/10 with water and feed, then I started adding ice to the top of the pot. 3/12 I added ice to the top of the pot and watered 2 ltr with PH6.7 3/13 Ice on the top of the pot At this point, I decided BC2 needs more time to mature and resumed water feed schedule. 3/14 2 ltr PH 6.67 3/15 she was feeling light, so I watered 2ltr 6.5 water. BC1 has received a week of ph water and will go in the dark today for 2 days then the chop. The blue cheese gals are maturing faster than the other strains in the tent. After flushing excess nutrients out of the soil and plant, Blue Cheese 1 in coco is maturing faster than Blue Cheese 2 in soil. Blue Cheese 1 shows fade and nutrient usage in the upper leaves. I also see pinks and purples in the buds and leaves. They look pretty with lime greens, pinky purples in the bud formation. The buds are stacking fatter and packing on more resin on the buds which are sticky and hard. The stems are strong and support the heavy buds. Blue Cheese 2 shows minimal trichome formation compared to BC1. Her leaves are still green with no fading. The older pistils are turning orange brown and water consumption is slowing down for both girls. @Sour_D, I've never tried a cheese strain. When I was buying at a popup, I asked for any cheese strain and no one had heard of it. So I had to find a vendor with cheese seeds and soon will get to sample.
