I selected New York City Diesel autoflower. Even though this strain is a sativa dominant, she is supposed to stay short. Plan for this grow is to learn and evaluate the equipment and keep plant training to a minimum. Basically, I will defoliate and LST train only as necessary. I soaked the seed overnight in a glass of water with a splash of hydrogen peroxide, then placed about 1/2 inch into the root riot cube on the 9/17 and popped soil on 9/19. The 1/2 inch deep ensures the seed cap comes off when it pushes thru the soil. Hey Abby Equipment includes the grow box, lights built into the ceiling, 2 carbon filters, a watering can, a .5-gallon seed bag and a 3-gallon grow bag that fits the bottom compartment. Below the bag location, is a reservoir to catch to the runoff and a removable drawer to empty. It also came with a 6-month support and subscription service. Note I received the grow box in July and they started the subscription countdown on receipt. I contacted them that I just started my first grow and to start the subscription now. I’ll see what they say. The grow box is connected and controlled by an app for either Apple or Android. Once connected, it asks if you’re growing auto or photo, seed or clone and sets the parameters accordingly. They also have a discord community of users. I did not get the soil mix they recommended, I’m using Fox Farm Happy Frog supplemented with earth worm casting.
