Smoke Report - Star Pupil: The Star Pupil is a very interesting strain. Smell-wise I've never had cannabis that smelled like that and it's quite hard to describe, I'd say she has a really nice funk in a sweet cheesy/perfumey kind of way with some pine in the back. Look-wise she's beautiful, darker shade of green with visible purple "spots" and darker orange hairs. Oh and she frosty! And when you grind it, you end up with a pile of half green pods and half purple, almost pinkish pods. Effects, This is the even more interesting part: They come fast, she's not a creeper. I'll feel relaxed but not in a couch-lock/lazy way, maybe a bit slow but still a pretty clear-headed high, if you smoke with friend there's this group happiness that happens. As I'm sampling nugs as it cures longer, I've noticed being more creative and the funk being even more complex that the first "real" smoke test (that I did 16 days into the cure). Grow Report and lessons learned: - Should have started feeding nutes way earlier, I waited till week 6, when leaves started showing P and K deficiency signs (which, from what I understand, usually show up ~4 weeks after the facts) - I should have stopped weaving branches through the SCRoG net way earlier as well, I stopped at week 3-4 of flowering so they never really stretched above the net. This caused several problems: (1) instead of spreading the nugs out they were growing into the net and close to other nugs and leaves, that meant less airflow and less light-penetration to the lower canopy; (2) the Five Star being much more of a Sativa than the Star Pupil she grew faster, she was taking more than her half of her tent and growing into the Star Pupil. - I had a lot of new variables this run, such as new lights 4 weeks in, new nutes 9 weeks in, dehumidifier added but was still able to reach 1g per watt, compared to ~0.25g/w on my first and previous run. I'd be interested in growing the Star Pupil again, but without topping her by just using LST to tie her down and get a similar result, faster. As for the Five Star, I'd definitely grow her again but not in the near future, I have plenty of sativa-leaning strains to try.

Switched to something else as soon as I ran out of the Fox Farm trio, I wanted a more organic set of nutrients and found TPS-One by TPS

What can I say besides: It just works! I wish it had more headroom, 5ft isn't much after looking ~2ft to pots and vent/light setup.

--- These notes are for both the Star Pupil and the Five Star --- 05/18/2020: Harvest day! - Cut down the plant at their base, while still in the SCRoG net I flipped it and hung the net. With the humidity being high due to raining weather and most of the nugs touching each other I was worried about developing any kind of mold or rot so I ended up cutting up the plant to separate those nugs and dry correctly (having the plant in the net and flipped made it very easy to cut the different branches). - Did a very minimal defoliation, removing only the big fan leaves that were touching other leaves or nugs. - Hung into my new 2x4 gorilla tent, set up 2 fans (in a way that they don't blow air directly on the nugs) and set up a dehu and a humidifier controlled by an Inkbird so I could keep my humidity around 60%. 05/25/2020: Trim and cure day! I was aiming for a longer, slower dry but after 7 days, most of the branches felt ready for trimming and curing. Trimming dry went pretty smoothly Here are the final numbers: - Star Pupil: 75g of buds and 49g of larf+popcorn - Five Star: 137g of buds and 61g of larf+popcorn That's 322g, so about 1g/w!

growing 5 star and it has turned purple with great bud formation in week 7 of flower - takes 8 weeks - also did star pupil but 5 star was the best all round and has that Pack-a-stand along with afghan and Thai _ going to get a very high yield for thisstrain

looks like "n" issues because of the leaves just flush and let plant get very dry before feeding - don't get me wrong great looking plants - these two strains can be difficult

@Azgrows, have gotten good yields with a 30day veg not counting germination and seedling stages ( I start veg time when there are 3 "true" sets of leaves) I am on week 8 - at the end 60day flower - will be harvesting in 2 days There flowwer times are right on. Here are a few that I have: 5 Star - Star Pupil -Panama Goo -Fisheye OG -Acapulco Gold (a pure sativa heirloom/landrance) and GOJI Pupil with a 30day flower = 3 foot plant = 1/2 / to 1 lb harvest

@airplane, for sure and thanks brotha! They're in FF Happy Frog soil (with ~30% perlite), I only started feeding her some FF Big Bloom (barely any N) and some CalMag at 5 weeks. the recent clawing is due to feeding her some of FF's Grow Big once. As for watering I've been letting them getting very dry (3-5 days). I've been reading up Mass Medical Strains' tips and listening to his podcasts, very informative. They're showing (I think) potassium deficiency but I'm not sure what to feed her without adding too much nitrogen (that's why I tried giving them some FF GrowBig) Probably gonna veg them a full 8 weeks before flipping to flowering, it's gonna be hard to wait!

I noticed that you didn't get the purple pheno of the Star Pupil. How big were the buds? Large fat kolas or just clusters of bud at roughly a foot or less intervals? If you can remember. I'm currently growing that strain right now and I've got two purple Phenos and two non purple phenos

would consider 45 day veg then flower

watch the "N" with these plants - don't hardly give them much at all and also you can let them get very dry between feeding/watering - mean letting them go for 3-4 days no water
