Hi Hippieboy, MH lamp give a blueish in color (because they emit light that is mostly in the blue spectrum, this makes MH lights better suitable for the vegetative growing period, if u have MH lamp sure u can use it for vega.High pressure sodium lamp(Hps)colored yellow and red, since they are in the orange and red spectrum, Hps better for the floWering period. If u have only Hps u can use it in all stage groWing. Good luck.

With no bla bla bla .... MH is for Veg , HPS is for Bloom ! As a new grower the only difference you will notice is the color ... ! You can experiment them if you want , but as I said you won't make any difference if you have no experience

Many people use only one. MH light will give you squatter plants, frostier but less buds (yield wise). HPS is the opposite. Also, MH gives more heat and can be harder to manage because of it.

Hi there ! The difference is in the colours of each spectrums , the metal halide spectrum ( MH ) is fully loaded in blue so it is better for the early stages and the vegetative stage in general ! So you will get lowet plants in height and a more bushy shape and it will help to get a better roots system. The HID on the other hand is a red spectrum so it's better for the flowering stage , as it increase the stretch it's recommended to use it after the 1st or 2 first weeks of flowering stage , the red spectrum is better for the trichomes production ! Hope it will help you to see clearer 😁👍
