Roots Excelurator issue?

Anyone had any issue with Roots Excelurator causing root rot or causing the roots to become brown and slimy? It was used in combination with Hydroguard in a 5gal DWC and it does have an air pump feeding two air stones. And i never have the air pump turned off.

What else would you call brown slimy roots other than root rot. I don’t understand how a ph imbalance would trigger a colony of bacteria to attack the roots? In my experience with DWC, it has always been a combination of factors which are; res temp, oxygen, light leak, plant/organic matter and human interference. Touching/disturbing roots Can easily introduce bacteria , leaves or plant matter in res will do the same. Sounds like you have enough oxygen, but I don’t know that. Light leaks are common. Warm res temps is numero uno. It’s best to keep it on the cool side to avoid any possibility of heat being a contributing element. Like 20C max. Preferably 18C. Down at 15C and your slowing down metabolism. Hope any of this helps. Cheers 🍻
