Hey, buddy! 👋 On average, a simple carbon filter lasts about 2 months of active odor control. Usually, the size of the carbon filter and its inlet diameter correspond to the power of the exhaust fan, and the filter specifications indicate what fan power is needed and for what room volume it is suitable. After 2 months of active use and battling strong odors, the filter needs a replacement of the filler (replacement of carbon pellets). Of course, it can work for 3 or even 5 months, but the outgoing air may already have a slight foreign smell, meaning the filter is no longer 100% effective. You can service your filter yourself by buying granulated activated carbon, opening the filter, pouring out the old filler, adding new carbon, closing the filter, and DONE! - Like new! 👌 2 months of active battle against strong odors. I recommend using it during flowering, as strong odors accompany the plant in the second half of its life - during the flowering stage! 👆 Good luck, bro! ✊😇 Good luck, bro!

yeah most carbon filters will run so long, you can recharge some with activated carbon and you would be good to go for a few more runs, there was a place on ebay that sold real nice ones, foothill carbon filters, made really nice and are refillable , i have one and it has lasted over 4 years now, i empty the carbon every so often and refill it, easy. or you can use the kind you have that has an expiration date on it, good for a few grows and thats it, unless you have a way to add and remove the activated carbon in it

They all expire, best to go with the cheapest amazon ones you can get. Cheers

Hey So in my experience they all vary...and i always still had some smell even when using a carbon filter. But they should at least stand up to a year and a half of growing and being used every day before needing to replace the carbon or the whole thing. But if your grows have been broken up by periods of not using it, then they can last a lot longer. When you're choosing a model I'd highly recommend one that comes with a prefilter because that'll help prevent dust and other stuff getting in there and causing damage. If you see yourself growing for a long time id get a more expensive, durable model like phresh. It's a little pricey but worth it.

Been growing for 8 years and have bought a bunch of em. The ones that cost a lot and the ones that are mid price I haven’t seen a difference. But I would buy from amazon before buying at grow store as they just inflate prices most of the time.
