There are several tops that are lower down than the main tops. Should I remove any of these, since they won't get as much light?

Hi @Berserkjibis! Avoid any kind of pruning after the 2nd week of flowering, each pruning session requires the plant to focus its energy into recovering, and might even lead to new veg growth. Defoliate instead! 👊

Given that this question is 4 week old obviously it to late to do this now! However in the future is this is something you want to do its a fantastic way of increasing yields by decreasing the small useless buds. I highly recommend doing this right before going into flower or After the flowering stretch has been complete. You want to avoid doing this in the middle of a Flowering stretch to avoid stunting the plant and harming your final product. This method id called lollipopping - in case you wanted to read more into it or watch videos 'the grow boss' does some phenomenal explanation videos on this, I hope this helps with your next grow. I'm looking forward to seeing it done in a future diary of yours 😎

I made the mistake of not cleaning up the bottoms...if i had, im sure my top buds wouldve been bigger and stronger. Ive been examining various lights and if i have it right..if a light covers a 3x2 area at 24inches i think its indicating that anything beneath that 24 inch line will not be getting quality light. And as such will drain energy and nutrients from the areas getting the good light. So yea i say remove any small buds and leaves at the base and leave the energy for the top colas. The plant looks great as is..but for yields and density id go with the cleaning. Happy flowering. ✌️

I would remove anything on the bottom 30% of the plant aswel as any of the biggest fans leave that are blocking bud sites.

I would defoilate, and look how they do. As long as you can spread your plant all flowers get Light. The ones who are humble and very deep down i would take away

I agree with the other answers. I would with my humble experience, defoliate in your case and then lollypop it, this way you'll see what really is too low and needs to be taken off. Good luck!

Depends how they grow during the stretch , I would advise to wait and see then lollipop or if your 100% sure they wont get light then I would just go ahead and remove them this way your plant can focus the energy into the other tops creating nicer fuller flowers for you ! If say you didn't wanna cut the tops off you could LST and expose them to more light in order for them to grow and become even with the main canopy . You have lots of options here , you could even make clones outta the tops that you dont find viable this way on your next grow you will already be that much more ahead of the game ! I hope this information helps you understand the options you have in dealing with an un even canopy in order to get maximum yield ! -Happy Growing!
