You can put garlic in water, but don't boil it, let it sit in the water for 24h and then strain and spray the plant. You can use copper wire all around the pot to prevent slugs and snails from getting there since it reacts with their nervous system and they won't go over it. Or coffee grounds or egg shells or all of the options. You can spray some neem oil dilluted in water too.
