3rd week of flowering, lower branches are snapping off easily. Too late for a harsh defoliation?

Plants are in the middle of their 3rd week of flowering schedule, about 3' 8" tall from the stem, top two thirds are doing well, but the bottom branches are breaking off by just being brushed against when watering. Is it too late for a harsh lower defoliation?

Hello. I like to wait till week 3 to do defoliation, and prune and trim. It will put the plant into shock if you take more than 1/3 of the leaves and branches. But the plant will start growing again in a few days. I like to wait till week 3 because I want the plant to be fully into flowering stage. after it comes out of shock it blooms fully. Leave till week 5 to trim anything you missed. Good Luck. Chuck.
