Please help! :) This is my very first grow and I have read so much conflicting information that I must have made a huge mistake somewhere. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated. Problem: Both seeds failed to germinate / sprout.

The best advice i can give, is keep it simple. Keep the plants comfortable, good temp, humidity and consistent lighting and watering. Lots of seed companies will have a few duds in the batch that just won't germinate no matter what you do. I think the internet can be the cannabis growers most amazing tool, but you'll still find some things that work better than others for you as an individual. In regards to the germination...personally i like to soak the seeds for maybe 12 hours, long enough to soften the shell but not risk drowning and then place them in the paper towel method until they sprout their root and then plant in soil.(i tried putting some sprouted seeds into peat pods, similar to cubes and they drowned to death i believe.) Personally i think doing just the wet paper towel method is easiest and you can see pretty quickly if a root is going to show up. I see you mentioned the rock wool cubes soaked at 5.6 ph...I wanna say that's a bit low, if you can bring it up to 6 or higher 6.3 6.5 i think you may be better off. Good luck with the first grow and don't get discouraged by a couple failed experiments. Happy growing welcome to the community. ✌️

germination is the most sensitive part of all this, hard to say what exactly went south and what didnt. You're trying to recreate the perfect conditions found in nature which are darkness humidity and temperature. What i would say is avoid all non-biological medium including rock wool which is a bit more complicated that peat cubes to get started in. Another thing is pH 5.5 is the pH of rain water. Soil pH should be 6.0 / 6.5 and above actually you want it more acidic not more alkaline. Soaking in some sort of rhizotonic solution is a good idea. you want darkness until the taproot comes out. everything else you did makes sense to me. hope this helps ! 🚀

Dis you buy these seeds or are they bag seeds? What colour were the first seeds? seeds? Germinating seeds is pretty standard. I use the soak method 24 hours in tap water, chlorine keeps nasty stuff away, let them sink and then move them to a couple damp paper towels and put inside a sandwich bag, leave in a dark warm place, I find internet routers work best and leave for 48 hours,, when tap root pops i put them 1/4 inch down into soil then with a small flourescent light 3- 4 inches above the soil until the thing sprouts
