When I checked the run off from this weeks watering - PH was 7.6 and TDS was reading 1975ppm. I had added Dolomite Lime to the soil as some had recommended. Could this cause the high PH levels? Any suggestions on how to bring it down? Worried about nutrient lockout. Thanks!

Lime will raise the ph. Are you ph’ing your water down when watering? I’d ph the water down to 5.5-6.0. That should help bring down the ph in your soil. Good luck!

I have had similar experiences with Diatomaceous Earth. What I would do is pH a whole mess of water with pH up/down -- don't let anyone tell you you don't need to at least have that stuff around because you're in soil. But pH it below the 6.3-6.8 soil range first. I would run like 5 whole gallons at 5.6-5.8, wait, test runoff, and then probably start flushing with 6.3 water similarly once they've dried out.

Hello. Normaly as I know we should not worry about ph when the water is good and we grow on soil. Your watering volume is very high, if you are giving them so much water maybe this is the only problem and you should take care of not to over water them. Why you let the water run off? You do that every time? Are you sure that is needed? I never do that. Water run off to me means over watering and is no good for the plants. Anyway to me seems they grow fine. Welldone! :)

I have used Vinegar for PH Down before if you don't want to go out and grab the bottles. General Hydroponics has a kit on Amazon for around $10 includes PH drops along with Up and Down.

This may sound like a lame and lazy way to fix your problem...but you could always buy the bottles of ph up and ph down and add them until its right? I know they sell it at that devil store(walmart) but fox farm and others carry their own version. Of you're already ph-ing and its coming out too high...maybe ph a touch lower than recommended? I hope it all works out. PS: I used some of the dry products to deal with PH and I'm not really sure it worked as good as the liquid ones.

Hey skill, my ph is in 7 too, dont worry TOO much about that, just make sure you use destilled water(the best) or find in your local market other water brand with a lower ph, im sure the problem is in the water you are using. btw they look very healthy

High tds is not uncommon for a relatively new soil especially one that has been improved. I would just water with regular water ph’d to 6.5 for the first few weeks and the ph of the soil will slowly com back down
