Switching from led to hps for flower?

Howdy, does anyone switch from a blurple led board for veg, to a hps or similar style light for flower? Why, why not? Is it worth the little extra hassle to buy and install? I like my led just fine, but wondering if there’s more to be gained in flavor, quality & yield. Thanks!

Depends on your LED light brother, most LEDs are better than HPS now. 💚🤘

That would depend on the quality of your led light. The newest samsung led's are full spectrum and are superior to hps in most every way. I use a spider farmer sf 1000 for veg and flower with excellent results. Happy growing.

Does anyone have experience with colas that have been severely light deprived, yet still have trichs?My ghost nug grew up on the side of the tent blocked from light. She has trichs, looks super light yellow (see pics). My question is, wouldn't this be desirable? Less chlorophyll to wait on before smoking? Has anyone tried to maybe light deprive parts of their colas?

PAR/PPFD and light height PAR/PPFD: does light height matter if your PPFD is in the right range? Another way to ask: is 300 PPFD @ 2 feet the same as 300 PPFD @ 20 feet, or are there other factors involved? (assuming heat, C02, all other non light inputs equal)

LED distance to plant advice Interested in how close I can get my 630w LED with a rating of 2.7μmol/W and 1700 PPF to my canopy. I had it hung 48cm (19 inches) on 380w and just upped it to 500w day 8 in flower. Does this sound too close at 500w or is this ok? Temp is 25C (77F) humidity 55%.
