I'm with Ezzjaybruh here... and would add that all my grows receive 100% of the light I have from the time they pop up to the time I harvest.... more light = better buds. The only thing that should concern you is if the light is so close to the plants that it starts burning the leaves.... The way I judge how far away to have the lights, particularly in veg, is whether the nodes are too close to each other (I will move the light away and make her stretch for it) or if the plant is too leggy with far too much space between the nodes (I will move the light closer so she doesn't have to stretch as much to get to it). Normally, the plant will go through a massive stretch all on its own when it goes into flower... just keep moving the light away so the canopy isn't in danger of being burned....
Good luck!
