Hello! I have done SEVERAL autoflowers over the past year and just finished a crop. Here are some things to keep in mind, again these results from from my grows, what I seen first hand not what was read on the internet! Autoflowers don't need a specific light cycle to start flowering. When they are ready to start they will start. Usually this happens between 3-5 weeks from seed or when the roots hit bottom. Now as for light, it dont need 12/12 to trigger any growth or trigger flowering, but like all things living, everything deserves a rest! Autoflowers are best grown with 20 hours of light and 4 hours of rest. You can dial back and go 18/6 to allow a couple more hours rest before she starts on her journey a full days work. Personally I use 20/4 up until the stretch of flowering is over, then I dial back to 18/6 to give more rest during the busy times where bud is being developed. My plants really seem to like it, and the results are just fantastic with lots of trichome development. Don't bother using 12/12 unless you have photoperiod plants in the room that are flowering, otherwise, take advantage of the extra light for a longer period while she flowers. It will only help you out in the end! Grow is looking great! Keep it going, soon you will have some monsters on your hands :)

An auto flower strain does not need a light schedule change. She will flower by herself let the light run 20/4 and she will still flower...

on 12/12 it is not necessary. The harvest will be less. If the electricity is cheap or free, then the regime is 20/4 or 24 Autoflowering versions of seeds always keep 18/6 successful growth namaste

I must need to start an auto up. Because I thought that if your plant wasn't maturing well, like fattening or trichromes...that sometimes lowering the light hours slightly maybe to 15 or so would help encourage that maturation? Good thing the guys below are always helping, every month....not just every other month. @DudeGrowsWeed, @Athos, @flavoursuk.

Short answer: no. It looks like it already started preflowering. A longer light schedule is the main reason autos finishing flowering phase so fast

Hi, I think she has already started, the transition isn't the quickest over the first 3 weeks of flower. She looks like she's in her stretch as we speak. But if you think she hasn't thats your call to make. Being an auto I'd keep the lights on at around 18/6 instead of only giving it 12/12 as those auto thrive of the light. You can check my auto diary and see what I mean about the stretch and transition to flower. Hope this gives you an idea. Good luck!

If she’s an auto, you shouldn’t have to switch to 12/12. I had an auto go about 8 weeks in veg also. She finally switched on her own to flower (without changing the light schedule) and produced my largest harvest to date. And yes, breeders tend to over exaggerate the speed from seed to harvest. All of my autos have gone at least a few weeks (sometimes a month +) longer than advertised. Good luck!
