Whats up grow Fam!!! I have a LED lighting question. at what distance should a, 23 watt (real wattage) 48 diodes each of 730 nm (IR), 3000K white light and 2100K white light, be kept from the plants? Im looking to purchase 2 of these bar lights (veg/bloom) for supplemental light.

So typically all manufacturers will have a recommended distance for their lights for each stage. Unfortunately not all leds are the sam regardless of the specifics. However i believe a good safe zone in general for LEDs with seedlings like yours is around 20-24 inches. I dont think you ever want them over the 30s unless its unbelievably powerful. Then as your plant gets a bit older youll be able to move the light down, 18inches, 15inches, but always do a hand check and place it right at the canopy and see if your hand can tolerate 30 seconds without being too hot. Good luck with your little ladies. Happy vegging ✌️

There are some variables to consider, your ambient temperatures and how well you exhaust heat in the grow space, but somewhere between 2 inches and 12 inches. I use LED lights and keep seedlings 6 inches from the light, fully establish plants on veg up to 4 inches and flowering plants as close as 2 inches. I do it like this to keep the plant as short as possible; but you can use them as far as 12 inches as I said.
