2 weeks flowering and only one plant is starting to show just one tiny set of pistols that I could see. Should they not have started showing sex by now? My tent has pinhole light leaks around the seams, is this enough light to fuck with my plants?

Some plants take a little longer to show flowers than others, so I wouldn't be overly concerned at this point. I would take care of the pinholes, as light stress can mess up the flowering process. I used electrical tape to the outside to cover the small holes in my tent. I noticed near the seam where my fans were pressing up against the tent I had some light leak issues, so I taped up the seams as a preventative measure also. Flowering is started by the amount of darkness it receives, not light. When the plant receives 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness it allows a hormone to build up that triggers flowering. Light basically destroys/removes that hormone, so light leaks will mess that up Good luck and happy growing! 💪

Hi @masterof101010! For sure, a simple light leak could have affected the plant's cycle, but I see you've got nice preflowers now, so I guess it was just a long preflowering cycle due to genetics. Some plants need 3 to 4 weeks to properly develop their bud sites. Keep up the great work and happy growing!

This one guy told about when he wondered why won't they start to flower. Only thing was new thermometer in that tent. Then he zipped himself inside the tent and realized that the neww thermometer is blinkin red. Taped over that and voila couple days and flowering started. So little light leaks could fuck up their systems. Happy growing!

once you've tapped up your seams and any leds inside the tent, the flowers will start to flower correctly in 10 to 14 days, be patient and trust the plant, but keep an eye out for hermies or other signs of light stress like monstercropping effects. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Yes mate pinhole size light leaks can upset your plants flowering, I had a plant reveg because of light leak and it was all caused by a tiny red light that was on the powerboard I was using inside my old grow tent. Took me three weeks of pulling my hair out trying to find where the light was getting in until I figured that was the culprit. Also your plants can take up to 3 weeks to get really started flowering after 12/12 switch.

The first 3 weeks after flipping are called the pre flower stage, where the plant has an explosive vegetative growth, making room for the buds, proper flowering can start as late as the 4th week after flipping.
