I met this kid yesterday that said he waters his plants every day and not to LST. My plan was to make the plants grow in a spiral essentially. I just wanted to hear everyone else’s opinion on this kids statements. He has like 2.5 grows under his belt where I only have .33 grows.

Lst for maximum canopy exposure, don't water everyday because that doesn't let the roots stretch to search for water and expand. You want to find a good watering schedule for your plants, let the soil dry out but not completely. You'll see your plants slightly droop, then water and they will perk up after 15 mins. Its something you practice to master. I've seen plants that get hand watered everyday and it's not beneficial. But a soil/coco on a drip system getting watered everyday on a timer does work.

In my opinion the trick is to get as much light down the bud kolas which is why scrog and and the small pot sea of green is so popular. If you look how a plant grows every leaf stem is a possible bud site or it will be at least if u let it grow. If u take a look at my diary I think I got it pretty good but my problem was the spacing between. There has to be a bit of space for the air to circulate and I think I had some crap dna which didn't help much with the stretch. Still I got 4.5 dried weight. Good quality dna and some good training aim for a level canopy with good spacing and u will get a good un.

I also grow in fabric pots. Early on I may water every other day but about where you are I am transitioning to watering every day. I wet the entire surface of the pot. Give it a few minutes to soak in. Then give another watering and let it soak in. You can often see the outside of the pot dampen as the water migrates down. You want ALL of the soil watered/moistened to encourage the roots to use every bit of soil for maximum yield.

Ask this kid how his rootzones looks like. Probably like shit. Water untill runoff, let it dry until the pot feels very light and repeat the proces.

LST can help get light on all bud sites. If you want one large bud(top cola) with several smaller buds of good quality and a bunch of tiny buds that are less quality then let her grow naturally. LST is done to even out each bud sit as much as possible to get more Medium size buds of the good quality. The closer you can get the light on ALL buds the more you will get.

Water thoroughly and deeply to run off every few days and wait until the top inch or so has dried out before watering again. Cannabis watered every day will grow a weak root system and being constantly wet can lead to disease or fungal problems. LST is almost an essential technique if you are interested in maximizing your yields, but tie it over then spread the branches out like a fan, not spiralled. Hope this helps, Organoman.

You dont generally want to water daily for soil grows. You normally want to let the soil dry out before re-watering. As for lst, a spiral is achievable, but not the most efficient if youre going primarily for yield. Cannabonsai is often vegged for shorter periods, and they look awesome! Good luck with your grow!

LST is a great technique. It can flatten your canopy and get larger yeilds. As for watering? Your grow is different than his. I use the knuckle method. Stick my finger in the soil up to the 2nd knuckle and it if feels dry, then I water it. For me it's 2-3 days. During early veg, it will probably need less water because roots aren't developed yet. Also you can pick up the pot, and if it feels light, water it. Hope this helps
