I would wait until the new branches have grown at least 2-4 nodes before topping the branches again.

For mainlining, (as long as the plant is healthy) you can top again after you see 3-4 nodes on each new main branch, you only need to take the top node.

Are the gals safe to top or are they too stressed?I've heard that you shouldn't top your ladies while there are any deficiencies or issues as it can be extremely stressful. Are those nutrient defficiencies? Which ones?A plant had interveinal chlorosis on new leaves and then proceeded to show brown patches between veins on middle leaves. Another has coppery brown spots on leaf edges on the middle of the plant. Both were rootbound in living soil (peat/perlite/hummus + ammendments).

Topping techinque: 4 main colas I'm approaching topping for the first time. The aim is to get 4 main colas, without FIM. The intention is to cut at the 3rd node (cut C) in order to develop the branches of nodes 2 and 3 as main ones. Does this make sense? Has anyone already had any experience with this?
