Wow you guys answering questions let this one slip by. Your grow looks great looks like you figured out all the advantages of using them by the size of those buds without burning them. Have a great harvest!👍👍

I know this is an old question, but you havent selected an answer yet so I figured I would chime in seeing as I know a lot about leds. This is gonna be a long answer but let me start by pointing out that any of the purple leds out there are an unfortunately old inefficient tech. They actually arent any better than similarly powerful HPS lighting. Newer leds(Quantum boards or anything using Samsung leds) absolutely blow HPS and older leds out of the water. and don't actually cost that much more when properly lighting your grow space. Biggest differences ive seen in using high-end leds over HPS are the following: 1) Since leds are more efficent you will require about 60% of your original wattage to achieve a similar yield. That means 40% less in electrical costs. 2) Significantly lower heat generation due to efficiency and lower wattage. This means less worrying about crazy high temps or trying to figure out a way to exhaust the hot air from the light. Some leds even have the driver separate from the light so you can mount it outside the tent to lower temps a bit more. 3) Very efficient dimming capabilities. With leds the more you dim them the more efficient they get, unlike MH/HPS which actually become less efficient when dimmed. So when you dim and LED light to 50% you are actually getting a little more than 50% of the original amount of light. This is great for saving money as you can dim them for seedlings and slowly bump up the power over the course of the grow. 4) Very large even light spread compared to HPS. Leds like quantum boards are made of a bunch of small leds spread evenly over a board. this means theres not such a big hot spot in the center and the light is spread over the plants more evenly. If you go with a big light that uses say 4 led boards, you can still get a hotspot in the center, but you can also get the same light with 4 smaller heatsinks and move each board however is needed. Another big benefit to the lesser hot spots is the fact that you can have the lights be closer to your plants. This increases penetration as well as giving you more height to grow before running into issues. I really hope this helps you out. If you are interested in upgrading to better led lighting look into kingbrite on alibaba. Yeah they ship from china, but every single purple led out there is made in china as well.

Noticeable differences: 1/ The Energy Bill -- 2/ The plants remains shorter with a lower distance between nodes

L E D are usually more power full so they need to be further (24-26″ (60-66cm) or more) next crop you want to top your plant at the 5 node to keep them small and bushy and for the add picture go to edit week then add them there 😌

Look top right. You will see 3 dots stacked. Click on that... it gives you options to edit. If you leaf Tips seem burned it might be nutrient burn. In that case reduce the amount of fertilizer. In General you should only use about 50% of niutrients recommended by the Company. That is a good rule of thumb. Hope that helps good luck on your grow.

Hey there I'm using "fluence-like" LED lights on a modular fixture, so i can add and remove as well as control the watage. the main difference is the coverage and the power i get better coverage and wattage with the LEDs, probably will be much above 1.5-2g a watt with these lights. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Hi, burnt tips are caused by excess nutrient uptake. To fix this add a plain PH water feed for the next 1-2 feeds than re-introduce nutrients below what you were giving and slightly increase as you notice no new tip burns after lowering the feed schedule for over two weeks, If you go the LED route, which I highly recommend, spend the money to buy a quality light which will give you a better PAR value to efficiency. Quantum boards are amazing and I'm not the only one using them 😀👍

Hi @Kmincey2617! I am using LED panels made of SMD diodes, the "LM301B" diodes by samsung which have been proven to be really efficient. That being said, your issues are not related to your lighting setup. Your plant is unable to manage nutrient intakes due to a very low pH in the rootzone, such low pH litterally stops the roots from eating nutrients. Because of this acidic pH all over the rootmass, Nitrogen / Calcium / Magnesium and other essential micro-nutrients are blocked into the medium, creating salt buildups if you don't get rid of these. In this situation, I would: 1/ flush the medium with plain pH'd water (pH~6.2) 2/ help the medium to dry quickly by putting a fan blowing a continuous breeze onto the container's surface. 3/ watch for recovery and go back to your nutrient schedule once the plant is fully healthy. Hope this will help, keep us updated and happy growing! 👊

Add pics by editing the week if you already updated the diary for the week. LED lighting runs much cooler, but can easily burn your plants. With high quality LEDs it is extremely easy to burn/bleach your plants. HPS is typically a more red spectrum of light, meaning it is better for flower than it is for veg and produces nice tight buds. LEDs you can add supplemental lighting to get a more diverse light spectrum.. Increase blues for veg and red for flower. I have seen a lot of people state the LED canopy penetration isn't as good, but with proper training and light distances, I haven't really noticed an issue.

Press edit on wanted week and there you find add pics. With LED's you get rid of some heat related problems also LED lights goes deeper so also lower buds get better light. There are variety of LED's nowadays so there is kinda everything if you gonna switch to LED make sure get one that will last and get some info from some growers that have used that light you are thinking of for some info is that light good or not. Happy growing!
