Why is the flowering footprint on a spider farmer sf-4000 5x5 but the Mars fc-4800 is only 3x3 flower with more watts?

Probably just the size an layout of the light makes it have a different footprint. It’s not good to compare one light to an other like this. It’s probably best that you pick a light that will suit your needs best. The SF is quantum board style and the FC is light bar. They distribute light differently. Hope that helps. 🤙 But PS. Buy the best light your budget can afford you and you’ll have some good grows.

Actually I will say that the new SF boards do have denser diodes on the edges. I still don’t think that it hits 5x5 even close. If you buy 4 of those for a 10x10 - you’re gonna have gaps of seriously under lit areas. Both of these in a 5x5 tent with Mylar should perform similarly- I’d still choose the bar light set up for a few reasons

Cuz they’re bullshitting. Mars is understating and SF is overstating IMO

Guess it depends from where you get your numbers: on both official sites from Canada, the 2 lights are advertised for 4x4 and shows PAR map for it.

Recommend distance to canopy and recommend heights also play a factor in this. It’s hard when you’re comparing two completely different styles. 🤙
