Defoliate or not?

To defoliate or not? I expected these plants to be much smaller than this as the pot size is only 5L! They have exploded and grown so bushy, but so far airflow is still pretty decent so I am not sure if defoliation will do more harm than good at this stage. TIA for any advice!

No I wouldn’t still. I bet you those will not grow any more substantial size. They are maxed out for that pot size.. Most I would do is take a bit off the bottoms/older growth on each branch to allow some airflow beneath them.. Looks awesome tho!

A bit of training, some lollipopping and minimal defoliation would be my idea. Just remember - maximum amount of healthy green leaves = maximum energy production = maximum growth. Besides, if your plants would not need those leaves, they would not have grown them in the first place!

@cactoman420 I would remove the leaves and small branches from the bottom 3rd of the plant/s that way the energy can be used to develop the upper areas that provide the chunky buds that you are aiming for the use of some low stress training can also help with yield

I would do both LST and triming. A little of both. Go with your gut. I'm not a professional by any means but so far doing it on my young ones haven't failed me yet. You will be able to figure it out and will come out great. Good look brother. Looks Great0!

I would ! I would do it on watering day, straight before it. Would strip all leaves down from most first fully matured and developed fan leaf. I doubt you need any heavy lolipoping after such session. Plan to do one on day 40-45 of flower, can make a bet in 10 days it will be same jungles ;)))) Good luck !

I would be more inclined to do some LST or light stress training. bending branches with string and stuff to allow better light and air movement vs defoliation. LST is also used to even out the canopy top a bit to encourage more rounded out growth. Best Of Luck!
