Well you can top Autos, but often you need to ask yourself-"why am I topping this plant again?" So why are you? We use topping to make more bud sites and to control the height of the plant. Now Autos dont normally grow tall so scratch that off the list..and Autos that have been topped develop more bud sites but does it increase the yield much? I dont know this as Im waiting on my glueberry Auto seeds now so will tell ya in a while.. but ask the guys here who know and most will say not really- is it worth the risk you shock the plant and get 21 grams of dry bud insted? All to get a few extra bud sites.... I dont plant to top my autos at all the first few grows and see what they do. THEN I will grow a few and top one and not top one and see what happens. But until I have a handle on the basics of autos and have a feel for them, I wont do much training until I dial in their growing conditions first. When i have the right soil mix, the right amount of watering and nutes , the Ph and everything else all dialed in and the plants are growing strong the entire grow-then and only then will I start playing around with training to see if it makes a diff to the yield. Autos are def NOT photos and you really need the basics dialed in to get any benefit from training. Agree on topping ONCE maybe but honestly for now, dont top it or train it too much and just learn as much as you can from what the plant tells you during her journey.

You can clip the top off the plant and it will do just fine but making a clone out of the cutting will work but you cannot control when it flowers so it will probably not definite but probably be smaller than the first and smaller and smaller if you take more

As long as you’re confident every thing else is on point.. most autos will take it in stride but don’t recommend more than one topping. Problem is that autos can be temperamental, and if conditions aren’t to their specific liking, you will end up with problems. And that topping will only exacerbate any possible issues you have going.. that will lead to loses in yield, quality, etc. I’m not a fan of autos frankly.. mainly cuz of this. If you’re used to photos, I’d just recommend letting it grow as is, do some mild training and see what happens. That’s just my experience tho. Good luck!

Autos can be topped. I would wait till its on its 3rd or 4th node before doing this and in combination with LST can help produce good yields. The tricky part with autos is they don't like to much HST, and anything on top of this can cause it to go into shock. Photoperiods can be topped may times with little to no problems. Autos also feed less intensely then their photoperiod counterparts and they hate being transplanted. Best Of Luck!
