It's about 3 inches tall and the stalk around the dirt is starting to brown. I am hoping I was over watering and have stopped watering it for 2 days now hoping it will dry out more and see if the color gets lighter. What else could I be doing wrong

Hola! creo que regaste mucho, eso es Damping off, o Pythium, no creo que sobreviva, el color mas claro es porque esta usando los alimentos almacenados en los cotiledones para sobrevivir

Hi, The plant I am growing right now, has a brown spot. I treated with neem oil and covered the stem with Perlite. She is almost ready to harvest. Im sure it slowed her down but with care, you might be able to save her.

Sorry but she dead. You def over watered her more than a lil bit. Even if she recovers she will be weak with a chance of root rot hanging around the entire grow keeping her weak. If you have more seeds then cut your losses and start again. if not then stop watering her until the cup/pot is about half the weight it is now...even lighter than that would be better. You need her to almost fully dry out to avoid rot issues so its up to u-do u want to waste a week trying to save her when you could have a new seed going and not repeat the same mistake again. If I was u and I had more seeds id start again with a new one and never ever water em more than a few times a week when small and only with a very small amount of water until the stem gets stronger.

You need to get 3% hydrogen peroxide and put a few drops on the stem where it is brown, then bury, then 5 ml at the base for 5 days and she might live. To reduce the chances of this happening again always sprinkle a bit of cinnamon around where she sprouts out. It works as an antifungal.

@BigPiimpDaddyy69 yes you have overwatered as the others have said 👇 To Fix it the solution is to gently bury half of the remaining healthy main stem and don't water again until it needs it that buried stem will create roots and save your plant from certain death if left as is

Yeah looks like you over watered. The first couple of weeks I rarely water at all. I put them in a clear container and cover the top with plastic wrap with hole. It keeps the humidity for the plant so you don't have to water as much. It also allows me to exhale into the container. So I can bump up the co2. Well, I would just let her dry out. Maybe put it into a bigger container to draw the moisture out of the wet soil into dry soil. See if she'll survive.

Your plant has suffered the fungal infection of damping off. I like to avoid this by using lots of beneficial microbes in the medium and water. They also look way to wet in that medium. It did not help their case. Sorry your plants a goner going to need to pop another seed. Do not reuse that medium unless the plants are bigger and have the ability to fight off that fungus. Best Of Luck!
