Pot size for a sog in hydro with clay balls ? Thanks !

I'm going to divide my actual 6.5L pots in 2 (with a separation so roots can't touch). It seems that max size for 3L is 30cm. I thought it would be enough for a 12 seeds sog with my tiny 90x40 tent on a tight schedule. What pot size do you use with hydro & clay balls?

The only difference I notice in pot size is the roots get exposed faster in smaller ones. It's really used as support. So as long as you have that, you're good.

Hi there, I have done a few grows in just clay balls and really struggled. I use 11L pots. I am not overly convinced yet on just the clayballs on there own. I couldn't figure out if I was over watering or under watering. I think mine was more on the side of watering to frequently. Anyway the 11L pots are fairy full of roots by harvest. My thoughts on pot size would be the smaller the pot the smaller the plant will be and the more frequently they would need watering. So if your plan is to cram as many in there and not want them to get to big or bushy I would go with the 6L pots.

Use the biggest pots you can fit in there. Hydro plants if grown well, have enough air in the medium to grow really big roots and the bigger the roots, the bigger the buds. "man, I wished I used smaller pots" - said no grower anywhere ever. 😊
