LED, HID, HPS, CFL are all just devices (transformers) that convert electrical radiation into light radiation as a by-product of this transfer, heat radiation is also generated, what makes LED so good is that they are much more efficient at emitting light radiation with very little heat radiation comparable to other transformers. First you must understand white light itself is not one color, its is all the colors of the rainbow all mixed together to form "full spectrum". Plants have evolved on this planet with precise concentrations of light at precise times throughout the seasons for millions of cycles. With hot summers come higher concentrations of reds, generally with colder winters we have more blues. The photoreceptor responsible for day/night circadian rhythms takes its cues from blue wavelengths (Day/night) The photoreceptor responsible for photoperiodic response is called the Phytocrome this takes its cues from red wavelengths (Summer/Flower) We use Kelvins to measure the temperature of light 2-4k is warm and summer like with lots of reds/oranges, whereas 6-8k is cold blue winter day. Optimal photosynthesis occurs at a leaf surface temp of 86, with LED make sure the plants are heated well enough, all the light in the world cant increase the metabolic rate of a cold leaf. Not doing so drastically reduces growth and can be regarded as "LED's are rubbish" If your seriously growing in a tent that big you will need to splash the cash on at least a 400w You should have enough id bet its lack of temp. The veg stage can be done with a flowering light but the Veg light would have problems on flowering.

Are you growing autoflowers or photoperiods?

I've always grown only with leds. Your leds panels need to be made for growing, so with leds producing the light spectrum require for veg and flowering. I'm not a pro at this, but gobally I know that the light spectrum is a bit more "warm" at flowering. So led panel manufacturers that target growing market, made some simple led panel that include a large range spectrum, so it match the need of the plant, from start to the end. But you can also find led panels specialized for Veg or for flowering. Some can even let you disable some spectrum range... Im not sure what get you confused? Your Maxibright light seems perfect, with a large spectrum range, as mentionned by the manufacturer. It's gonna match all your plants needs. Plus, LEDS will cost you less on consumption, and will last longer than your HPS ;) And your LED is 200w... I believe it output way more light than your HPS, isn't it? Now, it's really a matter of comparaison. You can have fun by trying both and see on the end what give you best result. If your HPS give you better results.... I would personally just consider buying a better led light, or maybe a led panel dedicated to flowering. But HPS...That's the old world to me.

More than happy to help. What do u want to know? I can go on and on about light temps, color spectrums and happily list dif lights to try or what ones to use when. Msge me and we can have a chat. Im one of those people that is fascinated by light tech and even looked into having my own LED fluro tubes custom made in china.

Do what you feel like and can afford. I use one spectrum start to finish, its a mix of 3000k and 6400k temperatures and does just fine. HPS is good for flower because it has more red in its spectrum where as CHM has more blue and is good for veg growth as they say. HID lighting is a good option as is LED. Mix n match, do whatever works best for you and brings you the best outcome you're looking for. I've also grown with 90w @ 6400k and had over 1g/w for it. Good Luck!
