Is it a good idea to leave tie downs on throughout the entire grow or should I take them off at some point?

they will start to lose shape, more slowly the later you remove it, but will still start to occur. maybe some really old stiff, woody branch won't bend much, but most will start to reach up again. a coulpe of my ggxww diaries have a LST'd plant that i removed or allowed the plant to simply break free of, i can't recall. i purposefully used staples in side of fabric bag so that any force would remove the staple before damaging the plant.

I leave mine on and use them to spread the buds away from one another as they start to fill out and move the larger buds away from the light when height restriction becomes an issue . I’ll tighten and move the buds around a few times a week but that’s probably just coz it smells so good and they love the attention.

Honestly, I think it doesn't really matter if you leave the ties on or not, I leave them on for the entire grow. I just make sure not to tighten the stem too much to allow it to fatten up. Many growers take them off just to snap a photo!

Mmm if you want, around week 3-4 into flower, you can take them off with nothing in the way of repercussions. At that point most everything has stretched and is set in place for good
