I performed LST yesterday and the plants have already stood up, and i feel i should tie them back down. I dont want to stress them out too much, but they have responded positively thus far. Any thoughts?

Hello You start fairly young, and then it is an ongoing process the whole grow basically until mid flowering when it's finished it's stretch and is focused primarily on making buds...but even then you will usually have to tie the branches to bamboo stakes for support etc. So i would check your lst everyday or every 2-3 days. The branches want to escape out of your bondage, they're reaching the light etc so they'll continue trying to grow and you'll have to continue to tie and retie often.👍

Everyone gave such good answers with thorough explanations, that's nice to see. LST can be used fairly often, every 3-7 days I end up making adjustments. Good luck with your outdoor grow

Dear Friend, LST is a technique that you should use during the whole stages of the plant even during the flowering. You started just at the right time to start LST. However, LST is more useful when you are growing indoors for the followings: - The direction of the indoor light is usually comes from one direction (So we need all buds to receive light) - The amount of light is not strong enough to penetrate to the inner branches. As you are growing outdoor, your yield will be probably bigger and you might need the Pine Tree (original) shape of the plant to stand on her own. And the sunlight is more than enough to feed all main and side branches. I never grow outdoor so you might check Outdoor LST Benefits further on the web. I just want to note it to your attention. Happy growing, Y

For more tops as the plant grows keep tying down the highest buds and keep the canopy all as level as you can so that when you flip to 12/12 everything will grow nice and even and give you the multiple tops your looking for. I found when i topped my plants it made Lst a much easier process as everything grows out sideways and you can tie it all down from there . Where as untopped the main stem just keeps going and unless your start to bend her around your pot you have to tie her overhanging the side of it. If your not so worried about an even canopy, As she starts to grow just tie branchs to the side to expose other sites to more light. The idea is just to expose as much light to as many bud sites as possible. Hope that helps ;)

Start LST and early as possible and thru most of the plants life. You can optionally stop doing lst after the first Flowerimg stretch when it can support itself and the branches are strong. Happy growing!
