Hi all, looking for a HPS replacement using an energy efficient LED replacement that can be used in summer, ideally under £600 for a 120cm x 120cm space. The market is quite overwhelming so would appreciate some advice, I'm based in the UK.

A marshydro FC 4800 but with 600 pound you'll get an FC 6500. if you want to go with mars you can use this discount code you'll get about 40-50 pound with 600+ pound. Works on all marshydro websites except amazon. Use code "GGS" in the checkout window. They have upgraded all their lights and if you see they have a much higher PPFD map and are the most widely used brand on here. So that in itself speaks of its quality.

I suggest going to the Migro videos on YouTube and watch the video for the lights you are considering. They have reviewed many, many lights and provide good unbiased results. www.youtube.com/c/MIGROLIGHT/videos

I use Lumatek 600 pro, however I’ve bought a nameless light at auction off eBay that’s currently going head to head with the Lumatek if anything it’s final product is even slightly better for half the price the Lumatek was at the time of release, read the numbers and match them up then compare good luck

If you are use to growing with HID, you will be disappointed with your crops, unless you get an led that is very expensive..

I’d recommend something that’s a bar light type set up. I personally run a Mars hydro FCE-4800 and it’s a great choice for a 4x4. Excellent light distribution across the whole tent - where as quantum boards have a hot spot in middle and drop off on edges. This light only raises my tent temp 3-5 degrees F at most. Best of all, I usually never need to run it at 100%. Most companies make a comparable version. Id recommend looking for something like that

new leds are all efficient and mostly decent. go with a known brand with positive trustworthy reviews and with a company that honors the warranty. lumatek is a uk based brand you can maybe look into their lights. i dont know the prices but a 600w zeus pro or zeus pro 2.9 can be a great replacement for your hid and you can drive it at 75% for longer lifespan and better efficiency while still getting similar/better yields compared to your hid.
