LSD-Auto (Barney's Farm): buds with black sugar leaves

Ralphsbalconystarted grow question 3 years ago
This is my first time experimenting with the LSD strain, now nearing harvest. Since the white pistils first appeared, the developing sugar leaves gradually turned black. See today’s photos. Is my LSD-lady sick? Will it be safe to smoke once cured? Thanks for any advice!

They are just pigments. It will not affect taste, aroma, potency......nothing at all and it will be completely safe to consume. If you are unwilling to use this plant, you could always send your harvest to me for my research purposes!

Your plant is fine and its nothing to worry about, that's just how it is. Most places aim to lock in the purple trait as people like to smoke colourful weed. its the extra Anthocyanins in it that turn it purple, its a type of flavonoid the plant produces. The more direct sun it gets the deeper the shade will be. Take a look at my Dinamed CBD Kush plant, it is also purple "black", purple does not mean it will be CBD its just how the phenotype is expressing its self. growdiaries.com/diaries/129779-grow-journal-by-m0use growdiaries.com/diaries/129779-grow-journal-by-m0use Good Luck!

Yes it is fine. It is color morphing. Should have some unique bud when done. Enjoy 🌱
