I think you only really need to remove some of the lower one close to the soil line. Ideally if you need to defoliate its only for allowing better airflow and light penetration to the lower bud sites but i'm not seeing a lot of bud sites so no point. If you are going to defoliate you only want to remove the bigger fan leaves and not so much the smaller ones. But again, I don't think your canopy needs it so much. Maybe later once it starts to stretch more. High, Growers use deoliation for 2 reasons. The first reason is to create airflow when the leaves are laying on top of eachother. And the second reason is creating equal light for every budsite and branch. So for example cut a few large leaves on the top that block the sun light for all the leaves below. I would defoliate the lowest 30% from your plants. The whole branches not just leaves and buds. And I would cut 1 of the leaves when there are 2 leaves laying on top of eachoter. This will stop the airflow and the bottom ones will be moist from the transpiration of the one in top. This moist can become rotten or fungal. You can do defoliation now and a last one again in 2 weeks. This way your plant is fully focussing on the big, fat and juicy buds! Happy Growing! 😋

Plants aren't as fragile as you might think when they are budding. I've heard a lot of bro science on the topic, such as a tiny amount of light leaking into a grow tent will cause a female to herm, which isn't true. Think of night time and all the stars in the sky. Say a full moon is on display, too. I've never once seen or heard of a plant herming because of too many stars in the sky, or a full moon bringing enough light to cast shadows on the plant. Anyways, like I said, plants aren't as fragile as people think. You can most definitely defoliate during flowering cycle. I always walk away from my plants with leaves that were covering other flower sites. I try to give every potential flower site as much light as possible. A lot of people set defoliation times during flower. I've heard quite a few people say they do a heavy defoliation at the end of week 3 flower and the end of week 6 flower. I hope this helps.
