Are these lower branches a waste of energy/ are they good for clones?

Hi all. I’m on my first grow and I have these lower branches on each of my plants and I do not think they will be sufficient in creating buds as they are behind the rest of my canopy and most likely are draining energy. Should I cull them and can they be used as clones? Thanks

I'd chop them off, personally. But, I like to really lollipop my plants. Take a look at my outdoor grow. I'm ScrOGing and removed almost all of the foliage underneath the canopy, along with all the branches that weren't going to make it close to the canopy. Not a single one of my plants were stressed to the point of turning into a hermaphrodite and they are all making fat nugs. I hope this helps.

I would say they are wasting energy as your canopy isn't very dense. As long as they are getting a good amount of light keep them. Cut any that a re low and shaded all the time.

I saw life that when people feed heavily and have such rare canopy , those branchas, if pulled up to expose to light - made extra 3-5 grams to total harvest each. At mines with more dence canopy i was clearing them out. Only air and leaf , not a bud was forming usually. So i would leave, just give them a yo-yo or other support. growdiaries.com/diaries/129716-grow-journal-by-asnoriu/week/726812 You see how more dence canopy i leave ? Happy Growing !!

Hi there You could if u wanted too .. I would personally leave them as it seems you have a lot of area for them to get to light.. Plus you don’t want to shock her to much and slow down growth, Best of luck 🌱
