not about what we want.. simply the result of the plant drinking and your temps/RH%. the plant will tell you when it is ready.. or the pot in this case. when top knuckle-deep of soil is dry, go ahead and water, but before you do get familiar with the weight of the pot. lift from side with a finger so it's the same leverage each time and you can do it from a reach, if necessary. don't have to put your finger in a pot or shift things around to feel back row. this will also make the required volume of water to saturate entire pot consistent enough for you to plan around. again, we don't pick the volume.. the soil mixture will do that as long as consistent on when you refil (from above). if you change how it is made - maybe, added perlite, it'll hold less than before. soil is good around 50/50 with a perlite or similar amendment to improve drainage.

Why? Just wait until the pots are dry.........extra watering will not make your plants any more special.

The soil should be as airy and light as possible. after watering, it should not grow into a solid mass. but if this happens and after watering it dries out for a long time, then I advise you to use a small fan that will be directed exclusively to the pots.
