What should I do after a pre-harvest defoliation? Dark period or harvest next day or 2?

Pre harvest defoliation. Should I put my Zkittlez Two in a 48 hour dark period after I do the pre harvest defoliation? I'll be wet trimming this one, so I figure it's easier to start a little early and then use the 48 hours to recover before harvest. Any suggestions? Yay or nay?

I wouldn't recommend the 48 hours dark period because it's a myth that is supposed to induce higher stress on your plant in order for the plant to provide better yield but when tested they found that the there wasn't any difference in yield but the plants that were give a 48 hour dark period were more susceptible to mould. Pre harvest defoliation, I support and recommend. It's a good idea to remove some foliage prior to harvesting because it induces stress just make sure to not cut them too early pre harvest. Good luck with the rest of your grow and enjoy the yield

Do neither.........any stress right before harvest and after weeks/months of careful cultivation is absurd.

48hr darkness is myth, The plants need energy + time to produce more trichomes and they get none in the dark with no light to photosynthesize, they don't just magically pop off. I used to do this but I thought it was more for terpene preservation but this did not have an effect on that. Terps will evaporate in higher heat environments so when you open the tent as its been cold for a day or so its why they smell more vs when lights are on. terps also can not be reproduced in dark periods. so extra long dark period just allows for more off gassing them, its also why you want to dry in a room that is colder to prevent all the tasty smells from going away. Plus if the RH is not in check that dark period could be a good time for molds to bloom. If all of that does not matter and you still want to toss em in the dark for 48hrs. then do it, its not going to hurt anything if your environment is in check. I like dry trimming but for wet trim give the plants a nice water 2 days before chop. nothing worse them trimming limp leaves. Good Luck!

A bit more of an explanation: Zkittlez Two is ready for harvest. I was going to wait for the other Zkittlez to finish up first, but I think the window is closing up. So I guess I want to know what to do after I finish pre-harvest defoliation. I have a vague idea, but would much rather some expert opinions. Thanks!
