because of interbreeding, the shape of the leaves don't really correalte to anthing important or at least a severely reduced correlation coefficient to the point it is useless.
it was a physical trait correlated to certain strains, but once you start interbreedingn them, when a particular leaf pheno shows up it doesn'tmean it brings other non-related traits with it. the genes that control leaf shape do not control the chemical composition of buds, which would account for any variance in effect, if not false perceptions to start, which is always possible with anecdotal knowledge. anecdotal knowledge is sus from the start until it is proven. if no effort to prove it takes place the people are either unsophisticated or afraid of the real answer.
