Stunted??? What to do?

ChrisC
ChrisCstarted grow question 4 years ago
Does anyone think these guys are stunted? I am a beginner grower. They are day 14 from seed, under a Viparspectra 450 on veg mode 18hrs a day. Germination soil and perlite only. Should I bump up the lighting or re-pot them to a bigger pot with soil mix? Any ideas are welcomed.

Hi @ChrisC The plant is blocked because the substrate is soaked. roots need oxygen to grow and feed. Apply less water in each irrigation and let the substrate almost dry out between each irrigation. they will jump in growth. good luck mate šŸ‘

Hey man! Happy growing and good luck with your first. Iā€™m doing the same at the moment. Your plants look pretty good and healthy. There size seems appropriate for there age. You can see what mine were like at that age in my grow journal. As for the watering, Iā€™d have to agree. The plants donā€™t look drowned but the soil definitely looks soaked. Next time you water, stick to the edges of the pot to promote the roots growing outward, and let the soil naturally soak to the centre. Donā€™t worry about the light cycle. I started at 24, and found I got better growth with an 8 hour sleep cycle when I added it in. It allows the roots and the soils microbial life to balance out. Keep us posted and good growing

They look heavily watered on the photos, that might be an issue. Leave them alone for the next days, don't stress them anymore, I wouldn't repot. They are small in the beginning and the slower progress is misleading and makes you overparent (speaking from experience) :D Happy growing šŸƒ
