Hey doinkconsumer, sorry to hear you're dealing with this right at harvest time, that's always super stressful. Based on those circled areas, it does look pretty suspicious for early Botrytis (bud rot) or mold, especially since you mentioned it looks like "cloudy formations" or web-like fuzz deep inside the dense parts of the flower. Bud rot usually starts from the inside out on the main stems of thick buds and turns grayish, white, or brown, making the surrounding sugar leaves look dead or wilted.
To be absolutely sure before you do anything drastic, take a close look under a jeweler's loupe or a microscope if you have one. If it looks like a thick, messy cobweb rather than the neat, mushroom-shaped, resinous stalks of normal trichomes, it is definitely mold. You can also gently pull at the small leaf sticking out of that circled area; if it slips out effortlessly with a mushy stem, that's a classic sign of rot. If it is mold, do not consume those affected parts, as smoking mold is really bad for your lungs. Carefully cut away the contaminated sections well below the infection site, sterilize your scissors immediately with rubbing alcohol so you don't spread spores to the healthy branches, and make sure your drying area has excellent airflow and lower humidity.
