Don't use your hand.. This is horribly inaccurate and won't actually tell you anything other then it's comfortable in that space. Download a lux meter for your phone this is one of the cheapest/simplest ways to actually "see" where the light is going.

Hello..hope you are well.. Depends on size of ur young plants but anywer from 250ppfd n upwards(pending on size of plants) vegative stage and the higher end of 1000ppfd n upwards wen they are in full bloom.. If ur first time wit light id personally leave it as far away from plant as possible for few days so to let plants settle and adjust to spectrum /heat change.. The bigger they get the closer u'll b able to put them to ur plants.. Put ur hand just above ur plants canopy and if feels 2 warm just raise it until its more bearable for young plants.. So you see with that particular grow light you will get full robust buds in the 2x2 square.. But it will taper off towards the edges of the tent.

A ppfd of somewhere around 900-1000 is a good baseline. After 1000 ppfd the plants usually require CO2 to use the extra available light.. Differs from strain to strain but the baseline of 1000 is a good number.
