Hi Jocelin, The best time to top the plant is about two, or three weeks before flowering. Then the secondary branches have time to fill out and build infrastructure so they can support rapid flower growth. It will produce a higher yield if the top branch is topped. Good luck.

Hello ! To me the best time to top it is after the 5th node for a seedling and 3 for a clone ! It's depend on your training method , for main lining the sooner is better.

Hi @Jocelin! The 3rd node is usually the first node you can top. If you want fast growth after topping, and since you're not growing an auto-flowering strain, you may consider the following strategy : let her grow until she got 5 nodes, then cut above the 3rd node. This way, new side branches will explode faster than if you topped her straight at the 3rd node. You can also remove everything below the 3rd node if you want to build a beautiful manifold. Finally, you can use the part you just cut (node 3 to 5) and make a clone out of it, if your mother is a monster, you'll be happy to have kept this clone by your side! Hope this will help, keep us up-to-date and happy growing 👊
