I have never grown a CBD plant before. Do I harvest/dry/cure the exact same way? Do I look at the trichomes the same? Do I do anything at all different? Keep in mind the CBD levels are around 17% and THC 0.5%.

You have to work like if it was THC , do exactly the same. The only things that could be different from a THC producer is the fact that the CBD will not get you stone or high. How to treat the plant and how to check the trichomes is the exact same way for both

Treat it just the same as normal weed. The only thing I would do differently would be when to harvest. You want to harvest with as many cloudy trichs as you can get without getting many amber trichs.

I am no expert but I have grown several CBD strain with less than 1% thc and I treat them all the same as any other cannabis plant.
